Our theme for our 6/1 group read will be an Undead book. There needs to be characters that are technically dead, ie: Zombies, Vampires, Ghosts (perhaps) etc.

Timeline:
*Nominate your book through the 25th
*Voting in the polls through the 2nd
*We'll know on the 5/3 what our 6/1 book will be so everyone should have a month to get a hold of it and we'll read it together in June.

Rules for submissions:
1. One recommendation per member
2. The book needs to still be in print & readily available.
3. Needs to fit the Undead theme

1. The Dead-Tossed Waves
2. Bloodlist
3. World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War
4.

I'm going to nominate The Dead-Tossed Waves. We read the 1st book for a group read a while back and I've heard great things about the 2nd.

Lily (lilithesque) I am currently reading Red-Headed Stepchild (Sabina Kane, #1) by Jaye Wells , and I reaaaaaly am enjoying it. I am going to order from my library The Mage in Black (Sabina Kane, #2) by Jaye Wells . It is a pretty new release and it will take months to get it so the timeline should be about right.

So to summerize, I am nominating The Mage in Black

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) Bloodlist by P.N. Elrod, first book in The Vampire Files series. It's about an undead private investigator in 1930's Chicago.

I'm going to be reading all of these soon, whether or not they are picked as a group read. It's going to be hard to pick which one now!

Julia | 119 comments I recommend World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks. An *amazing* book about a total world war against zombies.

Tasha (tashapost) | 9 comments I second World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War. It seems intriguing.

ooo... another good one! Think we could manage 4 group reads ;) I'm going to have a tough time voting. I don't even think I'll be voting for my own nomination - is that bad???

message 9: by Lily (new)

Lily (lilithesque) OK. I want to UNnomininate my book. Finished Red-Headed Stepchild and I gave it 5 stars, and am breathless with antisipation to read The Mage in Black, but the vampire Mythos isn't that they are undead in this book. I wont spoil what it is (I love it)but I dont think it meets the prime target of Mays thing UNDEAD. So please take my choice out of nomination.

Having said that that, I have been hankering to read World War Z so I am gunna be voting for that!

Lily - you make me laugh. I thought the vampires in Red-Headed Stepchild were a little different from normal vamps but it's been a LONG time since I've read it.

We read P&P&Z in December. It was a surprisingly good read for me.

Here's the Roll Call thread which was also kinda a non-spoiler thread:
