What do you think about how PB describes magic in her Mercy Thompson and A&O books?

Ann aka Iftcan (iftcan) | 297 comments Well--I like that she doesn't really DESCRIBE it--she lets us find out more about it in each book. She doesn't run it into the ground, nor does she get technical. Its just "a fact of life" type thing.

That's a good point, Ann.

I like that, as well. I prefer that she is matter-of-fact about it. That magic is neutral, but can be used in good and bad ways. I think that it's true, although I would call it energy in a real life sense.

You have described it great!! There aren't pages and pages of info that doesn't really have much to do with things like some books. The only time magic is brought up is when it is relevant to the story line.
