J-Lynn Van Pelt | 43 comments So, would you classify this book as a graphic novel or just a novel with graphics? Why?

What do you think of the drawings? Add, detract, or neutral?

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) A novel with graphics, and I absolutely loved them. I thought the comics really added to the story as it allowed the reader to see the character's work that he did talk about. Enhanced the story for sure for me.

Liz | 12 comments This is just a novel with graphics, but they added so much to the story - I thought they were great. I especially liked the sketches of Rowdy and Junior... p. 218 gave me a lump in my throat.

lionlady | 32 comments Yeah, a novel w/ graphics. A pic really is worth 1000 words!

Katie Verhaeren | 12 comments Novel with graphics, and I think they worked to really add to the book.

I do not think this is a graphic novel I read those on a regular basis and to me this is nothing like them. So far I have liked the graphics. They are really neat and add to the story. Very good.

Terri (terrilovescrows) | 43 comments No a graphic novel does not have prose. But the drawings are important to the story and towards his character

Elizabeth | 25 comments Well, that's not strictly true, although it often is. Watchmen has quite a lot of prose; each graphic chapter is followed by a prose section. A recent Batman installment, Batman and Son had a few prose chapters, as well. But more often than not there is no prose, just comic panels.
