LynnB I gave it 3 stars. It was an entertaining read, but I just didn't think it was all that special.

Betsy (ebburtis) | 1291 comments Finished it the other day. Quick and entertaining. It's pretty creative; the author supplements the book with all these photos, portraits and documents of and by the characters in the book. Who knows who they really are of or by since they are all fictional characters, but it does add something to the story. While that was creative, all the back and forth in time can sometimes be a bit muddy and it ends up with too many people to try to keep track of. Thankfully she keeps putting in family trees that help the reader keep it all sorted out. I gave it 3 stars.

Jaime | 216 comments Cooperstown is local (regionally, about 45 min. away) for me, which added a special flavor to this book. Many townspeople were not too happy with the book, from what I hear. My Dad works with a descendent of the Cooper family who still lives in the homestead there.

I found it to be okay. Like LynnB said, nothing that special other than the fact that it was local.

Betsy (ebburtis) | 1291 comments I agree - I wouldn't race to recommend it to others, but it was still fun. I am surprised that it got 4 stars from Bookmarks.
