message 1: by Wendy T (new)

Wendy T I'm personally not into the classic. I like to read fiction. I hope this group does not focus on classic novels.

message 2: by Wendy T (new)

Wendy T Sounds good Fiona!

Nancy (Colorado) I like the idea of variety. Thanks for the new ideas!

message 4: by Katie (new)

Katie Flora Wilkins (kflora) I've said this in another group...historic fiction and cultural fiction can be closely tied together, yet there can be a huge distinction between the two. For instance, The Whiskey Rebels is historic fiction, without a doubt. OTOH, Memoirs of a Geisha is definitely more about culture, even though it has some historic overtones.

galya How come the group reads have not been renewed?

message 6: by Wendy T (new)

Wendy T I also noticed that Emilee was not listed as an moderator any longer. I miss her already.

Heather (coateshl) | 2 comments Your ideas sound good. I like the option of doing group reads within themes or topics.

What's happened to the group? No monthly books to read, no polls siince May, looks like its quietly fading away. Time for a kick up the backside indeed. When you get round to it.

message 11: by Julie (new)

Julie (readerjules) I have recently joined some new groups and unjoined some of my less interesting ones. I am (somewhat) patiently waiting to see if this one becomes one of the interesting ones. :-)

I'm also waiting to see if they start the monthly book reads again.

message 13: by Beth A. (new)

Beth A. (bethalm) Perhaps our mods are really busy or distracted by their IRL lives right now.

message 14: by galya (new)

galya So let's vote on our own. We can do that. Create a new topic where we can make selections ono our own?

message 15: by galya (new)

galya You should renew the what book are you reading/finished posts, or any that have over 1000 messages.

message 16: by galya (new)

galya Oh no!! Why was the name changed?

message 17: by Julie (new)

Julie (readerjules) Probably has something to do with the other changes. I like the new name better. :-)

message 18: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) Yep, kind of like a facelift!

message 19: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (readr4ever) | 139 comments I really like the name change Beth and Fiona.

message 20: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) Thank you, Kathy!

message 21: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (readr4ever) | 139 comments Along with your refurbishment, I am going to try and be more active in the group, too. Even great mods can't do it all.

message 22: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) That's great to hear, Kathy. More active participation is exactly what we'd like to see!
