Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) I'm so excited! My library just added almost 250 ebooks to their Overdrive offerings. I checked out The Help by Kathryn Stockett and The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen, downloaded them to my computer and transferred them to my Nook in just a few minutes. Apparently, after 14 days, the books are checked back in and I won't be able to open them on my Nook (unless I check them out again). I'll let you know how it goes. Has anyone else done this?

Bree H. | 4 comments I've checked out two books on Overdrive through my library. I chose to have them for 21 days and after that the Adobe Digital Edition's software deletes them and I have to manually remove them from my Nook. You can also turn them in early in the ADE software if you get done with them sooner.

Konnie (mrsnaz) I am new to this group. I just got my Nook for Mother's Day and the main reason that I chose Nook is because I can download library books. My libaray's Overdrive selection is not that great and their are waiting lists for most of the books, but I have managed to read 4 free books since Mother's Day :) My library only offers 7 or 14 loans and then you have to re-check-out the book. You have to manually delete from your Nook but it is not that big of a deal. If you have a mini SD card installed you can even download audiobooks. I love it!

Like Carmen, my library only offers a 7 or a 14 day loan (you can pick whichever works for you). You can have up to 6 books checked out at a time, but that's more than I can read in 14 days. But I'm glad to know I can check them back in early. The two I got are pretty popular and I think the only reason I got them without having to wait is because no one realizes ebooks are available, yet.

Shanna (snowie) | 8 comments I think my library does the same thing, it's about two weeks but if no one else is waiting for it then you can renew it but since most of the books they are popular you can't renew most of the time. Though I do love being able to get books directly on my Nook for free. It was one of the major reason why I went with the Nook, to have the flexiblity of formats and the ability to get books from the library. :)
