Olivia (elven) Do you pay for memberships at certain bookstores?

If so, what is the price? The benefits? Do you have to renew it's each year? Do you use it often?

I have memberships at both Barnes and Noble and Books A Million. My B&N membership is $25 a year, which is a little expensive but I use it so much it really pays for itself. BAM only recently started to charge for their membership. I think it is $20 a year. With both memberships I get 10% off my in store and online purchases, B&N sends discounts for 15%-30% off in addition to that 10%. I use my discount card all the time.

Lisa S (kasey_k_fan) I also have a membership at B&N. I use mine quite a bit. I love the e-mail coupons.

Cammie I have a membership to B&N. I've never heard of the other store.

Donnajo B&N and that reminds me it's expiring soon and I have a gift certificate. Didn't use it that often this year with Borders being so close. Maybe I renew it. I think it's expiring the end of July not sure.

Debi (debjm51) | 445 comments We pay full price at our bookstore..that is why I usually buy my books at Walmart you get a 30% off and then because of Richard being an employee I get another 10% off. If I buy a book for 9.99 I get $3.00 off. We don't have any of the big bookstore changes around here that is why I more then likely haven't hear of it and thought it was odd..LOL!! Didn't mean to put anyone down or anything..sorry if I came across that way...smiles.

Lisa S (kasey_k_fan) No problem Debi. You can't order from Barnes and Noble.com?

Our Walmart doesn't have a good selection, that's why I don't buy books from there anymore.

Debi (debjm51) | 445 comments Ours has most of the new releases in paperback and hardcover. I usually start with the library and if I can't get it there then I buy it..but if the librarian gives me hope they might get it in I will wait it out..LOL!!! I haven't bought a hardcover in such a long time. I figure hey if I can get two paperbacks/mass market books to one Hardcover I will wait till it comes out in paperback..LOL!

I will have to check out the B&N site..smiles.
Before I moved here we had just gotten a B&N huge bookstore it looked like a huge library. I was in seventh heaven..LOL!! I use to get my books there but didn't have the membership thing then that I can remember or I just wasn't offered it..LOL!!

Sandi *~The Pirate Wench~* (thepiratewench) I have one of those rare "life time" chapters cards.
when chapters first opened..they had these..I never have to renew..so..does that mean when I die I can take the card with me but not my books? umm :(
