Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer discussion

I LOVED this book, it was acutally my favorite in the series, but I've heard many people say it was their least favorite. Why? Any thoughts?

I loved New Moon AND it was also my least favorite. I love how it progressed the story, but Edward was missing for half of the book, and that's what I didn't like about it. Although to be fair, him leaving was necessary for everyone to be where and how they are now, but I'm selfish and I LOVE Edward.

I love Edward too, that's why I enjoyed the hallucinations. I enjoyed the inuendo of Edward more than the blatant Edward. I also love how she wrote the pain Bella experienced from the lack of Edward. I guess I just related to the pain of loosing that one and only so well.

My guess is that it's a least favorite because Edward (and the rest of the Cullens) are missing through out the majority of the book.

I really enjoyed watching Jacob and Bella's relationship grow. I really like Jacob, not for Bella, but on his own at least. :) But it was also hard for me to read about Bella being in so much pain.

I think some people think it's the least favorite (not for me; someone else told me this) because they feel that the whole part where Edward left Bella and she was left in the numbness slowed down the book a lot. I disagree; It really showed how attached Bella was, and how Jacob's and Bella's relationship grew.

It was my least favorite because of all the hallucinations. Sometimes I just wanted Bella to make her own decisions. It started to get like blah blah for me. I did enjoy all the Jacob parts though. That was fun to read, this book made me really like Jacob more.

Hmm... I see your point with the whole Bella not making her own decisions. However, it's still my favorite. Thank you for your point of view.

This was my least favorite because edward was gone and he is my favorite character. that's probably why everyone else hated it too. but i can still see how some people liked new moon. new moon is way different from eclipse and twilight, but it was still pretty good.

The reason why New Moon was my least favorite was it was too depressing for me. I know that the love of Bella's life just left her but I really don't like depressing books. Also when Edward left the book got slow. I wasn't as interested in reading it as I was Twilight and Eclipse. Also because Edward left:)

when i read twilight i thought jacob was a stupid kid but reading new moon really got me to like him more and i think that new moon is my favortie book cuz it shows the way bella and jacob's relationship has grown.

i get really annoyed with the whole jacab/bella thing. also i don't like how pathetic bella is afer edward leaves. she is so empty, the book is so empty. i mean, i like it when alice comes (and when bella chooses alice of jacab. heehee.) and when she saves edward, but still... pathetic.

I know this is going to sound somewhat pathetic... but for me, the reason New Moon wasn't as good as the other books is because there wasn't enough Edward in it.
His perspective on everything and the way he talks and thinks and acts and everything about Edward is one of the best parts of the books.

I loved New Moon. Seeing a new character enter and have such a different effect was great. It's just I love the Cullens. And not just Edward, I missed Alice alot too. It made me read throught the book the first time way too fast and I missed alot of the book, so it was harder to enjoy.

I liked new moon too, but it was my least favourite out of all of them. It was because Edward left Bella throughout most of the book, Bella used Jacob, and Bella kept thinking of suiciding herself, in Edward's absence.

Eclipse has been my favorite thus far. I have New Moon and Twilight tied for 2nd.

yeah new moon was my least favourite too bcoz you didnt see much of edward. that kind of made it drag on abit in the middle.but i still loved it

Edward missing made the book BORING!! not that i didn't enjoy it, but it was depressing!!!!!

i loved this book and it wasn't my least favorite. My least favorite was Eclipse except for when Victoria dies but anyway, i did miss seeing Alice, Jasper, Rosalie, Emmett, Carlisle, Edward and Esme in it though. that is probably why it is the least liked of all the books

I think new moon wasnt liked because of edward, but if you like jacob then its actually quite good (me)...i thought the hallucinations were quite fascinating!!

Eclipse was my favorite, one of the reasons i loved it was b/c of the whole Jacob vs Edward thing going on...they were funny with their rude comments about each other
but anyways about New Moon i really enjoyed it. it was depressing, bella went crazy when edward left her which i understand but she really did go crazy with her dangerous stunts just to hear edward's voice in her mind,(i really did think it was edward, that he was somehow watching her) when edward left i was really upset thinking i wasn't gonna like this book then we get to know jacob better and see his relationship with bella and i fell in love with Jacob's character :)

Breaking Dawn was my least favourite, but I must admit I preferred Eclipse and Twilight than New Moon (I did enjoy all of them overall though). I supose I loved Eclipse as you had the whole love triangle thing thrown in there, and with Twilight you were being introduced to the characters and the romance started. New Moon didn't really have anything wrong with it, I liked how Bella was made to sound more human in New Moon. I know alot of people said she went on and on etc, but it's really like that in real life when you "lose" that first love. But I must admit I missed Edward in it, and his character is my favourite, he's charming, funny, interesting etc. So maybe deep down thats why it was not my fave.

Oddly NM is my least fave of all the books, but it's the only one that I read in one night. Why? My least fave because Edward left at the very beginning and I had to stay up the whole night reading to find out if he ever came back! Dumb I know. But it was gripping. I hated having to finish it so fast, but it had to be done!
