Caroline (and anyone else): If you like to read a variety of books, check out The Next Best Book Club (TNBBC). They have at least two monthly group reads, usually a classic and soemthing else, which members nominate and vote on end of each month. There are actually three reads this month, as there was a tie in the classics poll that could not be broken: The Red Tent, Pride and Prejudice and The Count Of Monte Cristo. I just read P&P in May, but might give Count a try, depending on how the rest of this month's reading selections go.

Just curious Heather, how did you get the group name to show up as a link?
Denise: I used html. Here's the code you use:
group name
Insert the web address in between the quotation marks where it says "url", then where I have "group name" above you enter whatever the name of the website or book/movie/article title or whatever it is you want to link to. It's about the only html I know. Comes in very handy! :)

GoodRead definitely expands your horizons. I've read several books since joining I wouldn't have otherwise considered, such as Shutter Island, The Botticelli Secret, The Hunger Games and Catching Fire (and can't wait for August when Mockingjay is finally out).
It looks like we will be nominating books for July group reads pretty soon in TNBBC. Lori was just taking suggestions for a July theme. There is usually one general fiction/nonfiction selection, and some sort of theme - which looks to be books under 200 pages for July. Apparently people wanted something "short" after this month's selections. Can't say I blame them, LOL! She'll take nominations for a week, and then we get to vote.

Mary: On the group main page, in the right-hand navigation bar, look for "You are a member of this group (edit membership)." Click on edit membership and you'll find another button to unsub.

I belong to four groups including this one. One I just joined today. Another is more or less a "list" very little interaction. This on is my favorite.

Book Haven, Mysteries and Thrillers,Agatha Christie. The Quilting and Gardening groups, Cozy Mysteries, I am totally addicted to word and sentence games and adore the author blogs. I also love the book challenges. Do I spend too much time on the computer!!!!

You're really busy now only with librarian group ;) (it's the group I read more these last days).

O boy am I! lol. Although I've rescued all my books now - I kind of got into the groove of doing it over the weekend and just didn't want to stop. Plus, it was a really good learning experience for this new librarian. :)
I haven't rescued them and I'm not sure I can do it. Most of them are Spanish editions, so it's complicated to find them. And covers...

Have you noticed your numbers going down at all since the imports began?
They have gone from 156 till 121 (with some help from my side). But I've discovered that the import till works as it likes, the editions in need of rescue are a bit "strange" in some cases, and all the things I expect from the handle of a big quantity of data, so no a lot of hope in a good outcome of this (cynical programmer talking here).
