I'm finding that some series are hard to put in a single category, they might have vampires, shifters etc more in emphasis in some books in the series than other. I find it helpful where people are putting a little about books having shifters etc in as well as vampires.
Quite a few series really do belong in more than one category, I for one would find it useful if they were in any category they needed to be but with annotations if needed.

Some of those books deal with a specific family.

Dark Predator is the next one coming out, I added the link anyhow. I don't know the exact date, I think it is Zach's book
I think I have the order off, some are anthologies and I think I switched a couple.

If you really want to get an idea of how great the series, read those two and then D. Magic. Gregori is to Die for. But to understand him in D. Magic, you really, really need to read the second book, Jaques and Shea's story.
Another key thing, they are a totally different race, not human.

Another author of vampire books: Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. These are teen books, but they are really good.
In the Forest of the Night
Demon in my View (my favorite)
Shattered Mirror
Midnight Predator

there's ten books so far x

The main character is a vampire, but then something weird happens and he becomes a mortal, kind of. I don't want to spoil it so I won't tell you what happens, but it is cool. I'm glad my friend told me about this book.

I'm currently writing the second book in my vampire series. The first book info is below.
** Now includes bonus material from The Vampire's Curse: Book 2 in the series.**
"I found this book to be unique in its approach to the typical vampire story. It's far from typical it's very different. I'm not going to give a spoiler here other than its storyline of the sentinel concept is awesome and very different. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. Very Well Done. Buy it and read it now if you haven't yet." - KhloeZoe via B&N Review
"S.J. Wright is an author to be on the lookout for! Her writing style is fantastic, The world she created in The Vampire's Warden was so real to me! I cannot wait for this series to continue! This is the best Vampire book I have read... and that is saying A LOT!" - MD_Christie via B&N Review
It was a flash in the moonlight, a blur of motion like I’d never witnessed before. No human had the capacity to move like that. When I found myself face-to-face with him there in the meadow, I knew without a doubt that the journal was authentic. I knew that my grandfather hadn’t been crazy at all.
Because a foot away from me stood a vampire.
Sarah reads her grandfather's journal in stunned disbelief. What was once her grandfather's responsibility has passed to her father and now to her. She has become the Warden. Her life will never be the same.
This is part one of a three-part series. It is 31,880 words long. It is a novella, not book length.

for those of you who know what Midnight Sun is the movie is still in deliberation

I read most of the Argeneau Family Series, these were decent books if you were to read one or two. There was a lot of repetition in the books as far as explaining how the vampires came to be.

Dianne Duvall's Immortal Guardians series

"This blend of kick-butt action, intriguing plot twists,
and heartfelt passion is utterly additive!"
– RT Book Reviews
Lynn Viehl's Darkyn series.
(May not be all of them or the correct reading order.)

Kerrelyn Sparks' Love at Stake series
(May not be all of them or the correct reading order.)

Vampire, Angels/Fallen Angels, Demon, etc. Strong female characters, a lot of humor and the writing is great.

Glory St Clair - Gerry Bartlett. Funny.
VV Inn - CJ Ellison - 1 rst book is Just One Taste. Very adult, funny, romantic.
Argeneau - Lynsay Sands. Funny.
