The Run

He felt himself losing breath. He started panting with the effort.
Then flames started to shoot up into the air all around him, like a wall of fireworks.
He pulled up short as a ring of fire surrounded him.
He pulled out a small silver ring from his pack, and held it in front of his face, "Maybe . . . no it was his job all along. He'll have to continue this mission alone."
He gripped the ring tightly in his hand, and flew it like a frisby out of the ring of fire.
"Good luck Tom." He whispered quietly. "It's your turn now."
Zach turned his face towards the firey sky, and waited. For he knew the enemy was coming. For him. And he was prepared.

Zach turned his face towards the firey sky, and waited. For he knew the enemy was coming. For him. And he was prepared.
He heard an evil laugh behind him. Zach whirled to face a great demon with leathery wings and long claws.
He unsheathed his elegant sword and made a defensive position.
"Are you going to fight this time Zachariah?" The demon cackled through a scratchy voice. It was like fifty witches were cackling at the same time.
Zach scowled and shook his head, "Not this time."
"Ah, such an unwise choice." The creature cocked it's head.

Just that he hated being called Zachariah.
Zach feinted a leap at the monster. It dodged aside and lunged with its great maw for the mans arm.
It felt a great cut along one of its wings. The Gargoyle roared and screeched. The spell of fire it had used was doused. Zach took his chance and ran away from the deadly creature.
But where was there to run? The enemy had already put up it's barrier to the people inside. The only way was up, and that was where the enemy was going to come down and take him captive. Or kill him.
Then the helicopters and beasts began to swarm around him, hands grabbed him from behind, and he felt a sharp pain in his stomach, but he payed no mind. He probably deserved the punch.
He was trapped now, and there was no way out. Then someone stepped out of the helicopter, all dressed in crimson red, and coal black.

(Ahh! I love it! we must continue!!)
The man that stood in front of him could be none other than...(oh crap! I can't think of anything!Help!!)

(help Olivia!! I can't think of anything!!)
(uh... okay! let's try it!)
HIM. "Well Zach you've evaded us quite well these past few months. But the master will want to see you now. Alive, sadly. He doesn't wish to waste such talent." The evil man said.

"then change it! I don't care what you do! I won't help him again!" Zach hissed.

((I love this one, my idea, is that he gets captured by the enemy, and then the 'Tom' person has to continue on where Zach left off, and rescue him at the same time. Like it?))

((Yeah, kinda my idea too. And when they finally get together, it still switches off, but in present time. Do you get what I mean?))

The stranger in red smiled at Zach, saying, "In a hurry, Zachariah?" His tone was surprisingly conversational, as though they were discussing the latest headline news. Ha! As if Zach didn't already know he was doomed! The man continued, ignoring his silence, "I presume that you weren't prepared for the enemy to know you that well? Don't you simply adore how our spellweavers tricked the night into an innocent calm? How we covered our smell to be untraceable? Yes, we know that you are an excellent tracker, Zach. However, we have found a way to thwart your senses. Don't you simply delight in the brilliance of it all?" Zach's expression grew stony and he waited. He refused to drag this out any longer. Obviously, his opponent intended to gloat before destroying him. "And," the man hissed in a suddenly deadlier tone,"don't you love how I bask in my well-deserved glory before I finally kill you?"

"Just get it over with," He mumbled.
The man shot his gaze towards Zachariah and scowled, "Why are you so eager? You never wanted to be caught like this. It's so easy, and yet, you've always found a loophole in our plans, why haven't you now?"
Zach looked away from him and didn't answer.
"Being a mute boy? For 14, you should be begging for mercy!"
"But am I?" Zach hissed at him.

(AHHH!! I feel power coursing back to me!! Here we go!)
Zach spat out some blood. "I remember my training. And I remember Valren's influence, I'll never join him again! You might as well kill me!" He said harshly.

A look of pure fear crossed Zach's face. "No, You can't bring her into this." He begged.

(oh, this is too good!!! I just want to keep writing until the whole book is finished, and then there will be another!!!)
"But we can." he said slowly.
"NO!" Zach yelled loudly, kicking a box at the same time.

"Then cooperate and we'll leave her alone." The robed man said with a wicked grin.

Zach's lips immediately closed, and he began to listen.
The man kept his grin printed across his face, and he stepped in closer towards Zach, "Now, we can't have you peeking in on where we're going, so . . . boys?" He asked the men around him.
A group of men stepped in closer to him, a few of them tossing some rocks up into the air.
"No!" Zach yelled, trying to get free of the ropes.
But it was too late to try and get out, the helicopter door had closed, and they were airborne.

(Wow, that's a lot of comments in thirty seconds or so. )
"Any minute now." He kept saying this between his gasps for air. "It will happen any minute now."
