I will keep you posted.
I thought I was late for this thread, where is everyone?
Which ones do you have or read?

"Depends what jumps out from the shelf at me when I go to pick the next one"
I could leave BLACK DOGS and go to ENDURING LOVE,if you would like so we could discuss while fresh in our heads???
Yeah,I`m not banning myself until next year wghen I`m doing a year of reading from home.Apart from trawling round secondhand Bookshops to track down books from my wish-List!!!!!"

No I still have space, but I still haven`t done the studio as the weather has been so good that I couldn`t bear to be indoors.......

I hope you are wearing sunscreen?
You can kick my BT about Studio in the Autumn...LOL!!!

Yeah,Thanks for the summer thing but promise to kick my derrier about it in the Autumn??????

On the whole I think ot does take at least a chapter or two to really get into his rythym with one or two exceptions....

I read Amsterdam. It was the first of his that I did read.
At home I have Black Dogs and Saturday; I wanted to get Chisel Beach when it came out, but somehow I didn't. I'm glad that Gitte enjoyed it. I will definitely add it to my TBRs.

I'm tempted to try this one...I've only read Atonement.

Hi Shell, let me know what you think when you've read it...also to let you know he is working on the screenplay for it...
I recently got BLACK DOGS and so I will let you know how it goes :-)

Regarding Ian McEwan and the screenplays of his books just to say that ATONEMENTs screenplay was actually written by Christopher Hampton ad at that time Ian McEwan felt he was best not to go down that path.
I'm afraid that I still havnt looked into ENDURING LOVE in this aspect.Sorry.

Your Welcome :-)
He was one of the 3 Executive Producers on ATONEMENT,he would make suggestions but wash bothered of they were used or not....
It will be intetesting to see why he decided to write the Screenplay for ON CHESIL BEACH,maybe as it will need such sensitive handling?
We will fi d out in due course,no doubt

Ah! Executive Producer, ok. I thought he was involved at some level :) DJ, I take it you did read Atonement? And saw the movie? If yes, then you know the endings were a little different, but without changing the outcome. Which did you prefer?

And thanks about the film bit I have already seen it...twice in fact.
I will let you know what I think of the differences......

I also LOVED The Woman in White by the way :)
I'm signing off for now-- have a great day! Fun chat this morning, DJ!

I've only read Amsterdam and Atonement (Atonement being a top 5 favorite), but I also have Black Dogs and Saturday. I'll definitely pick up On Chesil Beach, maybe see if the library has it.

I'm really looking forward to BLACK DOGS so. Let you know how it goes :-)
