Good morning everyone!

As of today I will be stepping down as co-moderator of the Jane Austen group. My life is entering a new phase, and I want to devote more of my time to getting my daughter ready for college next year. It's time to apply for college admissions and scholarships!

I have enjoyed working with Sarah to make this a great place to be to discuss Jane Austen's works! You are a great group of people and I really have enjoyed getting to know so many of you. I'll still be around, but just not so often.

Thanks to Sarah for starting and running such a great group. It's been a pleasure.

Thanks, Lee. I'll still be around. I like being here!

Joy (joyousnorth) What?! You better stick around Jeannette :)

message 7: by Paula (new)

Paula I second what Joy said! You better keep stopping by Jeannette! Besides - your daughter is amazing so she'll just need to pick her school and be done, right? Then you can come back? :)

I know it is a cumbersome process, so best of luck and hope to see you here whenever you are able!!

Thanks Joy and Paula! I could never leave my fellow Janeites completely. I do think there will be some campus visits in my future. It would be a lot easier if she would go to the university that is just down the road from us. :)

Karlyne Landrum You'll really be missed!

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks Karlyne. I am really just stepping back from being an active moderator, to free up some time for the last year of high school (we homeschool) and the college search. I will still be around as much as I can. :)

Karlyne Landrum My daughters homeschooled, too, so I sympathise. We moved to "town" when they were 13 and 16 so that they could attend classes (ballet, theater, jazz, etc.) at the local university. They decided not to go away to college (although the youngest did apprentice with a ballet company for a couple of years which was resident in a city about 600 miles away). So, anyway, I was spared the college search! Have fun with yours!

Robin (robin1129) | 306 comments Best of luck to you and your daughter on the college search - and the funding search as well. Sometimes that can be more than half the hassle of it all!

And I have no fear you'll be around often, Jeannette - for a good dose of Austen-icity if nothing else! :)

I think you've got me pegged there, Robin. :)

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow, ISU is a big ag school, but I don't think they have an ice cream spot. I'll have to ask. Thanks for the tip! :)

message 18: by Karlyne (new)

Karlyne Landrum Which ISU? Iowa? Illinois? Idaho (that's where I live, but the ISU is not by any stretch considered "big")? Indiana? Have I missed any "I"s?

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry! Iowa State. We aren't really that big, either, not like some Texas schools. :)
