I definitely agree with that one!

Do we also second single book recommendations? If so, I agree with:
Green Rider series by Kristen Britain
Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey
The Discworld series by Terry Pratchett
Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb
Kushiel series by Jacqueline Carey

message 14: by Lára (new)

Lára I disliked 1st book of Kushiel series by Jacqueline Carey, but I´d like to recommend Lord of the Rings for everyone (not MOVIE but BOOKS) and Inheritance series by C. Paolini. Nice fantasy books for beginners!

Sariel by Garth Nix is great, too.

message 15: by Sparrowlicious (new)

Sparrowlicious If you like books about dragons, dragon riders in particular, I would recommend the 'Temeraire' series by Naomi Novik. (Beats Inheritance, in my opinion.)

Damian | 2 comments If you're daring and want a new experience in fantasy, try The Ankhs: Red Marks The Child by Amira Awaad.

The woman weaves fantasy and words like a tapestry!
