Many authors have blogs on Goodreads and other social networks. To get them noticed, post the link(s) to your blog here and help fellow bloggers by visiting a few and clicking the "like" button if you enjoy what you read (if you don't see a "like" icon, try thinking of your own ways to get the blog noticed).

Eg. This is the link to my Goodreads blog:
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

Lady (bestnewfantasyseries) | 78 comments Hi John: What a beautiful blog! Your book sounds fascinating, too.
How do you like working with Smashwords?

Cheers,
LE

message 6: by John (new)

John Hileman (johnmichaelhileman) | 10 comments Thanks for the wonderful feedback. I have had a good experience with Smashwords so far, of course, I haven't drawn a check yet, so we will see. :). They have done everything they promised, and ... you can't beat free ebook distribution.

Warm regards,
John

Sure thing! I found them all interesting.

Susan Gottfried (westofmars) | 68 comments I've been over at West of Mars for years now: http://westofmars.com/blog is the Meet and Greet. I also have my Win a Book publicity blog at http://winabook.westofmars.com and a third, smaller more traditional book review blog, mostly for overflow so the reviews don't overwhelm the fiction at the Meet and Greet.

Susan Gottfried (westofmars) | 68 comments Oh, LE, Smashwords has been great. I've gotten a couple of payments from them now and I have zero complaints -- and a huge number of raves. Do look into them.

Lady (bestnewfantasyseries) | 78 comments Well...that's a GREAT endorsement, Susan. Thanx! Are they just for ebooks?

Susan Gottfried (westofmars) | 68 comments Yes, Lady, Smashwords is e-book only. Almost every format under the sun, though.

Hey, Cheryl, do you ever need reviewers at POD People? I'd love to review rock and roll fiction for you guys!

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

After a 3-4 year hiatus, I returned to blogging in May. I used to consider it a chore. But a change in strategy and priorities is now making it fun.

Mental Geysers is the place I spout off on being a writer, an artist, give writing tips, with briefs of anything else that surges to mind.

I also have GR blog, accessible from my GR Author Page.

Thanks Susan, we are always looking for reviewers full time and guest reviewers. We don't get a lot of Rock and Roll Fiction, but you can offer up any review of any self-published book of your choosing. Just type it up in our format, include a cover pic, and email it to me at "cannegardner-podpeep at yahoo dot com" If you review regularly then I can probably get Emily to add you to our distribution list and get you posting access. Let me know.

Gary (authorponzo) | 54 comments Any writers who are interested in having their work seen by literary agents or editors, feel free to enter the monthly Strong Scene Contest on my BLOG www.strongscenes.com

There's never a fee to enter and the winner gets a $25.00 Amazon gift card. Give me your best scene, usually 200 words or less. Good luck,

message 28: by Gary (new)

Gary (authorponzo) | 54 comments Nanette, very interesting. Feel free to leave a scene for September. I've never specified whether the scene should be fiction or non-fiction. I always assumed it would be fiction, but a couple of months back Kate Mayfield won the contest with an excerpt from her memoir. So anything goes.
Good luck,

Gary

message 29: by John (new)

John | 5 comments Well done, Vincent. My blog's devoted to 'Writing, politics, music and morphine'--but also to my own books, of course.

And now I have several dozen other author's blogs to check out! I wonder what I'm about to learn. . . .

message 30: by Miriam (new)

Miriam Newman (goodreadscommrmirelandaolcom) | 18 comments Great idea, Vincent. I have a brand new blog just starting up where I will be featuring author interviews, announcing book releases, etc. It's my blog's Day One birthday, so come help me celebrate! :) And I might add that although I am a Romance author, I will not restrict the blog to Romance material only. Anyone who feels the site may be of help or interest to them is welcome. As a reader I love historical books and in the near future will be featuring a fascinating look at WWI by an up and coming British fiction author.

Tracy (tracy_falbe) | 6 comments Her Ladyship's Quest

I'm a fantasy author, but my blog does not focus only on fantasy writing. Topics covered include:

nonfiction book reviews
fiction book reviews
blog reviews
author interviews
movie reviews
Nature
archaeology
legends, myth & folklore

And of course I have updates about my writing and publishing.

PLEASE NOTE: Guest bloggers will be considered. Please contact me if you have a relevant idea to write about. I like to keep the focus on what would be of interest to readers moreso than writers.

I have a short piece (right now it's an entry from the glossary for my book, Homecoming) daily, and a longer piece (currently on aspects of building a planet people can live on--just had hurricanes and weather systems) each weekend. The blog links to my Goodreads profile. I'll probably add my Geophysical Christmas Carol pastiches in December.
