Tips for Self Promotion, Sales, and Advertising discussion

Allison Boozer, the Marketing person at Create/Space, Amazon's self-publishing house told me that to get your book placed as an "...all recommended" or other favored slot, YOU NEED TO HAVE PEOPLE CLICK ON TO YOUR TITLE. She told me to aim for 1500 clicks, minimum. Tagging is not necessary. That helps only if people are searching for a book with that tag.

To click on my book, go to Amazon & select Books, then type Harrie Rose in the search box. It will give a short list. Choose Therapy: A Novel (white cover, red couch cover) and click on it so the link will open. That's all you have to do. If you want me to click on your title, send me your title & author name & I'll click for you. Please click on my book.

My publishers did all the work for me. I have currently have three publishers. http://www.awe-struck.net/, http://www.newconceptspublishing.com/, and http://www.crescentmoonpress.com/. They are small companies but having an editor is a big plus.

I have been going on to Amazon and putting the author's name in the search box, and when the right book title comes up, I've clicked on it. If you search for Harrie Rose, 2 books show up. The top one is Therapy: A Novel by Harrie Rose. You just click on it (and the book's site opens, but you can ignore that.)

I'll try to get to the page where the Harrie Rose book is first pulled up and get the link. If you use a link to the book itself, the click won't count. You have to click on the book before its page opens for the click to count

You have to click on the actual book which appears after you go to Amazon & put the author's name and/or book title in the Search box. Then when a list of books appears, you just click on the one you want to help promote. Thank you. Remember, you're clicking on Harrie Rose's Therapy: A Novel. When the book site opens, you've done it.

BTW, it also helps if you "tag" the book's categories - either 2-5 of the ones already there or add a few if you think of some that apply. Helps that book "rise" in those areas for searches, etc. =)

I'll go through this list and click everybody's books tonight (gotcha just now, Harrie). Sure would appreciate some clicks on my titles. Sales have really tanked in the last couple months.
