We went to school with a guy named Dick Heer(pronounced hair).

I went to high school with a girl named Candy Sweet.

Or Jack Mehoff.
Or Jack Mehoff.
The Detroit Lion named - Harry Colon

I love a story my mom tells of going to Grandma & Grandpa Wolfgang's when she and dad were first married and going to church (SUPER conservative CofC; girls wear dresses, never pants) and during the announcements the guy says, with a completely straight face, "Sister Horny has come through her surgery with great success and will be recuperating at the home of the Tinkles." Mom got nasty looks from Granny Wolfgang, because she couldn't help laughing. She was trying to hold it in, but that only made matters worse as she was shaking the entire pew with her silent guffaws. I love that story. She still laughs every time she tells it.
My half sister's brother is named Brent Watt. In H.S. they called him Twat.

Speaking of Harry Beaver:

Heh, going to that doctor would be scary if I was a man. And yes those of us with unfortunate names learn to either embrace it or find a way to change it. You also have to be very careful what you name your children. My married last name is Beaver...I refused to offically change it for 8 yrs. My mother wanted us to name our son Phillip.

My niece had a teacher, Mr. Mello, who named his daughter Marsha.
A newscaster around here is known as Patrice Wood. She uses her middle name; her real first name is Holly.

I actually don't see much of a problem there. It's not like they named them Turd and Fart. They're unusual, memorable names - seeing them on a resume might make that resume get pulled out for another look.
When I was at school, I actually knew a girl called Anette Curtin.
A small town where I lived had a 5ft 0 woman working at the supermarket called Mrs Little.
Has anybody else come across people with amusing names.
