Your Presence Is Requested at Suvanto: A Novel by Maile Chapman takes place in Finland and there's Ice Land by Betsy Tobin and The Sagas of Icelanders in, well, Iceland.

Tolstoy and Dostoevsky's books are set in Russia.

This challenge sounds great! Time to get to know some more of Europe! I will steal the idea of splitting up the UK as well. ;-) Some countries sound damn tricky though! I will see how it goes, I highly doubt I will make it within one year, so I won't set a finish line, but I hope to be done in a year.

Hey, I'm not gonna join this challenge, because I've been joining too many as it is. But I can help you with a couple of books set in Denmark if you'll need that.

(Department Q #1) Jussi Adler-Olsen
(Department Q #2) Jussi Adler Olsen

He has written 5 books in this series so far, but I'm not sure if there's been translated more than the first two to English. I know most of the books have been published in German as well, but since most of you in here speak English, that may not help.

Anyway - these books are for the people who enjoy suspence novels. It's about this man called Carl Mørck who gets "promoted" to run Department Q, which is a one person department, where his job is to go through and filing cold cases. Assad, who is this mysterious guy from Syria, is suddenly being being attatched to department Q as well. After Assad joined the team they both find a case that has too many flaws, and suddenly they're doing a full on inspectation of a girl who dissappeared suddenly 5 years earlier.

The writing is written mostly by Carls POV or from the Victims POV.
This book has both humourous and thrilling moments, and really creepy ones too, but I've really enjoyed all of those books.

I am really struggling to read The Bridge on the Drina and I can't figure out the answer to these questions. Specifically, I want to know where I can them in the book.
How does Andric characterize the effects of modernization and nationalism in Visegrad in the Ottoman and Austrian eras? What did the bridge symbolize, what troubles could it attest to, and why was it destroyed?

I'll like to try this challenge. Don't know how many I'll do but I'll get it a go. :)
