Heida pressed her face against the cold glass window. She looked down at the german streets and sighed. She touched the golden start on her jacket and pulled the curtains over the window. In the 1940's it was a discrace to be jewish. heida knew that soon she would be taken away to a concentration camp.

But that was if she could get away in time.
Heida looked at her sleeping family and down at her brown hair. she ripped the star from her jacket and sewed a patch in the shape of a heart over the tear. She silently slipped out the window and climbed down into the street. She heard footsteps, of a solder
she dashed into an alleyway, and waited for the soldier to pass by.
Heida help her breath but the soldier came into the alley way holding a gun.
"what is your family's?" name he asked, "tell the truth or..." he pointed to his gun. Heida shivered, tears streaming down her face.
"my name is Heida," she shivered.
"last name!" the soldier protested. Heida had 2 choices, she could lie and get killed or she could tell the truth and get sent away

the soldier walked closer towards her.
Heida ran blindly through the darkness just to be caught in the hands of another soldier
