ooohh...Of Mice and Men - my sophomore year English teacher stripped any enjoyment I could have had from that book. It's made me shy away from Steinbeck in general :(

Oh, no! That's a shame. Maybe try again on your own terms?

One of these day I'll try Steinbeck again...It's hard to bring myself to do it when there are so many other books that seem so much more appealing.

I understand. I feel that way with John Irving. I hated The World According To Garp, but people love him. Debating on giving another book by him a shot, but its hard. I loved Of Mice And Men! I read it this last time with my 16 year old son and he loved it, too.
