Alrighty, it's that time again! We're gonna stick with one nomination per person again, that seemed to work out well last time.

You'll have until Monday (the 20th) to nominate titles. If at that time we don't have at least five nominations the period for nominating will either be extended or people will be allowed more than one nomination.

Also, keep in mind what we've read so far - as far as genre, length, author, etc. Maybe try for something outside of Fantasy and SciFi?

Nominations:
I Am Not A Serial Killer by Dan Wells
In a Sunburned Country by Bill Bryson
The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall
The Broke Diaries: The Completely True and Hilarious Misadventures... by Angela Nissel
The Satanic Verses by Salaman Rushdie
Azincourt by Bernard Cornwell
Why We Suck: A Feel Good Guide to Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid by Denis Leary
Night Chills by Dean Koontz
The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Watership Down by Richard Adams

Since I can't think of anything at the moment, I am going to recommend something I intend to read anyway for a paper I have to write.

It is In a Sunburned Country, by Bill Bryson. It is a non-fiction book about his travels in Australia. In part, it is about his time there and his journey overall. But it does go into the history of the continent, the culture, and even some of the flora and fauna. The book is both informative and fun. He's got a great sense of humor and it is just a fun book to read.

Excellent plan!

I was tempted to nominate something from my reading list for another group... two bird with one stone and all.

The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall is my suggestion.

If the trend holds, you will be either reading that book, or we'll select a book that I've already read.

Sadly, I do hope it continues with the selection of books I've read already as my time has been severally limited over this last month. And that will continue for some time now.

Keith (oafaye) | 60 comments I think I may win again because the book has such an alluring title lol

Katt_goddess | 269 comments Another go at "The Broke Diaries" by Angela Nissel.

I plan on re-reading it anyway, I just haven't gotten to it yet. :P Quick read, not sci-fi / fantasy. :D

Apollo Frimel | 63 comments The Satanic Verses I always love a book that was burned and banned and causes great controversy.

Mary (med401) | 234 comments My nomination is Azincourt (by Bernard Cornwell)which is the British release name, the American title is Agincourt.

This is a historical novel about the famous battle of Agincourt. It's historically accurate, has a lot of detail about the battles and life then, and a fictional side story about a long bowman and lots of juicy details in his life. The battles are also exciting. I found it interesting and fun.

Night Chills by Dean Koontz
When a strange disease escapes from a scientific lab as a result of a deadly conspiracy, the citizens of Black River are overcome by its unusual symptom, a night chill that causes them to perform unspeakable acts.

ok, I admit it, this is what we at the Koontzland club are reading for October, so I thought hmm, maybe I could get two book clubs to read it & save me time. ;) lol

Everything is added to the list and shelf... though the shelf is being stupid and not working right now. >.<

Apollo: I almost nominated that one. =]

message 15: by Apollo (new)

Apollo Frimel | 63 comments I had planned on reading it a while back but completely forgot about it. While I was looking through books to nominate I came upon it and had to suggest it.

I've got everything up to this point. Shelves are still a bit wonky, so things are on them, they're just not showing up right now.
