We've talked before about how one of my own personal challenges is to read all of Austen's books in the order that they read them in the movie The Jane Austen Book Club. So, I'm in for this one. I need to double check at home which book I need to do next so I'll post my list later.
Here's the list:
1. jane austen novel:
Northanger Abbey (Wordsworth Collection)

2. jane austen spinoff:
The Jane Austen Book Club by Karen Joy Fowler

3. jane austen bio:
A Walk with Jane Austen: A Journey into Adventure, Love, and Faith by Lori Smith

4. regency era historical fiction:
The Third George by Jean Plaidy

1. Sense and Sensibility
2. The Independence of Miss Mary Bennet
3. Jane's Fame: How Jane Austen Conquered the World
4. Georgette Heyer -- I haven't decided what book yet.
Hopefully I'll be able to finish them all! Good luck and have fun!
2. The Independence of Miss Mary Bennet
3. Jane's Fame: How Jane Austen Conquered the World
4. Georgette Heyer -- I haven't decided what book yet.
Hopefully I'll be able to finish them all! Good luck and have fun!

I've been bad at all the challenges in general. I was thinking about this challenge the other day but thought I set the last day to earlier...sigh. I think I just like creating the challenges for this group rather than actually attempting them.

2. Read a Jane Austen spinoff.
3. Read a nonfiction book set in the Regency era OR a Jane Austen biography.
4. Read a historical fiction novel set in the Regency era.
Some discussion starters:
Have you ever read Jane Austen before?
Why do you think her books are becoming popular in recent years?
What books did you pick?
Were there other books that you were tempted to pick for this challenge? What were they?
Did you like the books you chose to read?
Would you recommend them for Jane Austen fans?
