Xcite Books Authors and Readers discussion
Introduce yourself - please!

I'm Victoria Blisse and I'm one of those author type things! I live near Manchester in the UK and have been writing Rosy, Raunchy romance for ten years or so now. I've got stories in Ultimate Curves, Big and Beautiful and Seriously Sexy Stocking Filler and you can get my eBook Restoration from Xcite too.
I write stories about curvy ladies because big girls are beautiful and I got fed up of reading about waif like women in romance books. I wanted to read about women like myself sometimes too.
Lets see, what else? Well, when I'm not writing I love to read, fantasy is my favourite genre, I love to bake and I'm getting back to enjoying sewing too. I started a dancercise class about 6 months ago and now thoroughly enjoy exercise that disguises itself as fun dancing!
I think that's enough for now, you don't need my life history do you!

I'm KD. My novel, The Initiation of Ms Holly is just now available on Xcite. It's my first, so I may sound a bit like a proud mother:-) Big launch party in London coming up 15 October. Hope to see lots of you there! VERY EXCITED!
I've been writing erotica for three years now. I've had stories publishd with Xcite (yay!) Black Lace, Cleis, Mammoth, and others. I didn't start out writing erotica, I just always enjoyed writing the 'sex scenes' in whatever I was writing, and one day decided to send something off. It got published! Haven't looked back!
Writing is my passion and my obsession, but when I'm not writing, I am looking for ways to expand the vegetable garden that is already exploding out of our yard, I LOVE long distance walking -- just walked the Two Moors Way across Devon this spring. I love anything that gets me outside! I love to read, I am fascinated with languages, and I'm learning to play piano - sloooowllly...
My husband and I live in South England, transplants from the States. Our main hobby is enjoying our lives, which I think we do a great job of. I'm very excited about the chance to connect with like-minded people who also love raunch and romance!
KD

I'm excited for this opportunity to get to know everyone!
Thanks to Victoria for the heads-up on this group!

Hi KD, I'm a northern lass, the weather is jsut horrid up here today.
Hi Em, good to see you. Xcite is awesome!

I'm based in London, although I'm originally from the north of England, and I spend most of my writing days with a cat asleep on me (or walking over my keyboard in an attempt to edit my beautifully crafted prose). Weekends are for going to the football and cooking, mostly.
I write various different genres of erotica, but I seem to have been doing quite a bit of m/m stuff recently - which is nice...

We have guineapigs, they can be quite noisey but at least they don't try to edit my work. *LOL*
Hi Liz - Love your book Someone Else's Skin http://www.xcitebooks.co.uk/category-...
Welcome to the group!
Welcome to the group!

Dawne

I'm UK based, have short stories in several Xcite anthologies and a couple of 'standalone' stories. I'm currently working on my second and third erotic novels both for US publishers.

I'm Josephine Myles, and I write (mostly) m/m erotic romance, with the occasional foray into m/m/f and m/f. I've had short stories in anthologies from Circlet and Dreamspinner, as well as Scarlet and Filament magazine, and more in the pipeline with Torquere, Dreamspinner and Cleis. I even have one appearing in an Xcite ebook anthology: The Bad Girl's Sweet Kiss (not sure of the release date yet).
[shameless plug] I currently have a short story chosen as one of the finalists in All Romance eBook's Just One Bite Short Story Contest. There are 32 in total, and you can read them all for free and vote for your favourites over on their site here. [plug over!]
I live in Somerset, England, with my husband and young daughter. I'm really looking forward to her starting full time at school next week so that hopefully I'll find enough time to finish my novel - almost 60k words so far, so I'm not doing too badly!
Looking forward to getting to know more about you all!
Jo x

Great to meet you all!

I'm Charlotte Stein. I've got a few stories in some Xcite anthologies, including Sex, Love and Valentines, Ultimate Spanking and the Cocktales anthos.
But even more terrifying and exciting than that, I've got my first novel coming out with Xcite, on November 8th. It's called Control, and it's about a dominant and a submissive, because I can't choose!
Charlotte
P.S. Thanks for the heads up on your latest, Elizabeth! It sounds right up my street. Am off to go buy.

Author and reader of erotica. I live in North Idaho. Thanks Victoria for the heads up on this group.

My name is David K. I was brought up in London centuries ago, but have lived in Somerset, England for quite a while. My day job is that of a
freelance editor and copywriter, but I've been writing erotic fiction, off and on, for some years. Three of my short stories were published in
Forum magazine when it was edited by Liz Coldwell, and two have been accepted by Miranda Forbes at Xcite Booiks for an upcoming anthology - Indecent Proposal.
I'm not prolific. Trying to avoid the cliches of the genre - and doing so in a way which I hope women readers will enjoy - slows me down, and time and inspiration always seem to be in short supply, unlike domestic distractions.
Like many writing in this field, I write under a psuedonym - D.C. Kohn - which was the surname of my Austrian grandfather. I hope he won't mind.

I see Jo Myles - hi, Jo! - has already mentioned the ARe contest - I'm delighted to say I've got a story in there too, down in pair 16. If you have time, please do pop along and read the stories - any votes will be very gratefully received!
I write mainly m/m romance, although I also dabble in threesomes, either m/m/m or m/m/f. I'm based in Hertfordshire. :D
Best wishes,
Jamie
JL Merrow: Writer of (mostly) m/m romance, and fearless killer of bunnies.

I'm Gabriella, and I'm an aspiring Xcite author. I live in San Francisco and I've published one historical novel for an Irish publisher. I've had erotic stories published in several print anthologies from Cleis Press and particularly like m/f/f themes.
The day job is content editing, at the moment. Thanks for reading!

Oh, and hi Jamie! Fancy meeting you here, darlin' ;D

I'm Kay Jaybee, and I've been writing erotica since 2005, and am lucky enough to have had stories published by Cleis, Mammoth, Penguin and Xcite- including two solo e-books, Quick Kink One and Quick Kink Two, and(amongst others) I have a story in the brand new Boy Fun anthology.
I'm also a regular contributor to www.oystersandchocolate.com, and have a handful of stories in Forum and Foreplay magazines.
In addition, I have an anthology of short hot stories called The Collector published by Austin & Macauly.
I live in the South West of England, and juggle my writing between two part time jobs and two young children.
Writing is my absolute passion, and it drives me nuts that I can't spend more time on it. However every minute I do spend scribbling is a very happy minute- esp as it usually happens with a constant stream of black coffee along side!
I'm really looking forward to KD's new novel coming out - can't wait to go to the book launch in Hoxton.

Thanks Miranda for pointing me to your bookshelf, I shall certainly be over to peruse.
I have recently been published on Xcite.com with my erotic novella Bittersweet. It's an unusual piece, full of emotion that could very well leave you with a wet ... face. ;)
I'm a mom and a wife and I have a tendency to take the complicated view of everything. Layers are lovely and I rather enjoy taking my time to peel them away.
One day I'll retire to Belize and live the simple life, until then ...

I'm Ciara. I live in the Midwest with my wonderful husband, three cats, and have a baby on the way. None of these stop my mind from constantly thinking about sexy connections between people!
I'm an avid reader and have loved the erotica genre for many years, only more recently being more open with it and trying to get some of my writings published. (So, yes, I keep my eye on Xcite's call for submissions!) :)

Likewise, KD- am waiting on pins and needles for my copy of Holly!

Hey Miranda- great to be here! And yep, it is a great cover. Couldn't believe it when Xcite unveiled these new style covers, and I got to have one of them!

I've had a couple of stories published, one in an anthology called "Spirit lovers" and one stand alone called "Draw in the night". I have a general founding in fantasy and horror. In my capacity as an erotic author I attempt to couple the beautiful, the etherial, the wonder and the sensual nature of worlds. I enjoy the exploration of more than just the physical but the emotional and spiritual that an erotic story can invoke.
Please to meet you all and hope to have some good conversations.

I'm delighted to join you on Goodreads. I'm really enjoying my writing career and am working hard on lots of new work at the moment including a number of longer projects and a website. I love the classy new look of Xcite books and the wonderful covers and I'm getting a huge amount of positive feedback from people I am telling about Xcite books and who are going out and maybe trying erotica for the first time. I have just started a coffee morning discussion group for women wannabee writers and lovers of erotica, where we critique books and have a fabulous time. We are on a mission to bring classy erotica out to the masses and make women try it. It seems to be even mainstream novels are becoming a lot more erotic in content now and it's a very exciting time to be a romantic and erotic novelist. I love the friendly atmosphere at Xcite, it's a great arena in which to write. Good luck to you with all your future projects.

I'm Marcelle and my short story collection Bare Souls: tales of love, sex and death was published last month by Xcite and I've got stories in Ultimate Decadence, Sex in the City: London and Ultimate Burlesque. I've written the self-help books Incredible Orgasms, The User's Guide to the Rabbit and Secrets of Porn Star Sex. I'm a huge horror fan and have been writing about film for about 20 years. I'm originally from Stourbridge (near to Birmingham) but my husband is German. I have two children 1 and 4 and my writing is somewhat at the mercy of my daughter's ever-changing sleeping schedule. I'd love to correspond with other writers.
Hi Alcamia - many thanks for your kind comments about our classy covers. I agree that it's a great time for erotic writers - I think ebooks are the prefect format for erotica and will really open up the market to many more readers.
Please keep spreading the word!

Welcome Marcelle and everyone else who has posted - this is turning out to be fun! I'm off to the Frankfurt Book Fair tomorrow so will be quiet for a few days but hope you'll all keep the ball rolling!

I will be attending the Frankfurt Book Fair on Saturday. Will you still be there then?
Best,
Marcelle

The mighty Millers, Rotherham United - I was actually in Manchester at the weekend, on the way to and from our game at Bury. I must spend more time exploring there - the city's changed so much in the last few years...

Welcome to the group!"
Thanks for the praise, Miranda. Enjoy Frankfurt!
Hey up, I'm late to the party as usual, I see all the champagne has gone and you're getting up to no good over the table with party popper streamers in your hair. Tut.
Anyway, I'm Justine. My first Xcite book, The Business of Pleasure, is newly out, and I have stories in several anthologies too. I've been writing erotica and erotic romance for a couple of years now, and the more I write, the more I find there is to write about.
On a side note, KD, I remember being amazed when I friended you on facebook that you were from Surrey - I thought 'But she writes an American voice soooo convincingly!' lol. Now it all becomes clear...
Sorry for my late arrival - hope I'm in time for KD to show us some of her burlesque moves ;).

I've written a lot of short stories, first for Forum (before your time, Liz) and later anywhere I could place them, but I dream of having time to complete a novel. I wrote a BDSM-themed one many years ago, but it fell in what was then a hole between mainstream publishing and hard porn; Silver Moon considered it but rejected it as not sexy enough, and the mainstream turned it down as too pornographic. Nowadays the market exists, but the book is hopelessly dated, so I need to rewrite it from scratch... after I've finished all the other writing projects I don't have time for.
Other than that, I've lived in a foursome group marriage, owned a full time collared slave, and still run a small business making bondage metalwork (www.silverandsteel.co.uk). My ambition (apart from writing) is to open a B&B&dungeon holiday place in the Swedish countryside.
