You look like you've joyously depleted your wallet :). I vaguely remember looking at The Replacement on goodreads, but I can't remember what it was supposed to be about, thanks for reminding me of it--I'll have to look at it again :)

The last book that I bought was from the Goodwill store:

Holy Blood, Holy Grail by Michael Baigent

I don't necessarily believe the stuff that these authors and Dan Brown-like authors suggest in their books, but I like reading controversial topics just to expand my mind. I need to go to B&N or Half Price Books and go on a book spree. It's been too long since my last splurge (even if my family tells me I can't buy anymore books until I finished the ones I have).

Amy (celesi) | 11 comments My husband told me that--and then I finished 100 books this year, so I decided I deserved some new reads.

It's just hard to resist when you need something new to read. And then I just came back from the Goodwill again--found two books I wanted:

The Road by Cormac McCarthy The Day the Falls Stood Still by Cathy Marie Buchanan

Fun times when your step-grandfather comes to visit, he'll pay for whatever you find in the cheap stores :)

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) Well I just got back from HP and I bought
My Soul to Save (Soul Screamers, #2) by Rachel Vincent My Soul to Keep (Soul Screamers Series #3) by Rachel Vincent City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1) by Kelley Armstrong

And from Wal-Mart
Dreamfever by Karen Marie Moning An Irish Country Christmas by Patrick Taylor

Amy (celesi) | 11 comments I love all of those first four! I've read some Moning, but I'm not familiar with the last title.

I've done more damage, obviously.

Matched (Matched #1) by Ally Condie Pandora Hearts, Tome 1 by Mochizuki Black Butler, Vol. 1 by Yana Toboso Arata The Legend, Vol. 1 by Yuu Watase
InuYasha, Volume 1 by Rumiko Takahashi InuYasha, Volume 2 by Rumiko Takahashi Full Moon O Sagashite, Volume 4 by Arina Tanemura Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, Volume 1 by CLAMP
Ceres Celestial Legend, Volume 3 Suzumi by Yuu Watase Fushigi Yûgi The Mysterious Play, Volume 1 Priestess by Yuu Watase Fushigi Yûgi, The Mysterious Play Oracle, Volume 2 by Yuu Watase Fushigi Yûgi The Mysterious Play, Volume 4 Bandit by Yuu Watase
Alice 19th, Volume 2 Inner Heart by Yuu Watase

Yes, a lot more manga. I don't really have the shelf space for any fiction at the moment. Well, that's not true. I have space for classics, and maybe memoirs. Otherwise, I have about half a shelf for books on religion, language or culture. All of which could be considered culture, even though mythology is shelved separately...

Anyway! My manga shelf is most open.

I always wanted to read Patrick Taylor. He's sort of like James Herriot, only for humans. The character of the books is an Irish doctor in the countryside of Ireland (don't remember where). The books have been on my to-read shelf a while.

You are more ambitious, I don't divide my books into sections. But anyway, this is what I got at the Goodwill yesterday:

The Help by Kathryn Stockett On Writing by Stephen King

My aunt recommended The Help to me and I've always wanted to read Stephen King's thoughts on writing. It was amazing that I found these two books at the Goodwill store for 1.99 each, good as new. Must have been my lucky day.

Amy (celesi) | 11 comments I am so incredibly bad. Had another coupon for Borders, and since I couldn't use it online, I went into the store and discovered...the manga sale.

On sale for $5 or less!
Possible Side Effects by Augusten Burroughs Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy (Gallagher Girls, #2) by Ally Carter Don't Judge a Girl by Her Cover (Gallagher Girls, #3) by Ally Carter

The manga sale: believe it or not, I put some back.
Okimono Kimono by Mokona Tegami Bachi Letter Bee, Volume 1 by Hiroyuki Asada Tegami Bachi, Volume 2 Letter Bee/The Letter to Jiggy Pepper by Hiroyuki Asada Time Stranger Kyoko, Volume 1 by Arina Tanemura Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei The Power of Negative Thinking, Volume 1 by Koji Kumeta
Black Butler, Vol. 2 by Yana Toboso Black Butler Vol. 3 by Yana Toboso Arata The Legend, Vol. 2 by Yuu Watase Arata The Legend, Vol. 3 by Yuu Watase Full Moon O Sagashite, Volume 4 by Arina Tanemura

And finally, what I spent that measly coupon on:
The Calligrapher's Daughter by Eugenia Kim

I really, really should not enter book stores alone. I do some damage online, but not nearly so much as when I can physically pick up the books.
