Robert Russell (bloggerbob) | 3 comments "JIM ELLIOT: A Christian Martyr Speaks To You" (ISBN: 9781615797646) was released in 2010. It contains transcribed messages which Jim Elliot spoke prior to leaving for the mission field.
It is not only of historical interest because of the five martyrs but also has life-changing content.
Full Disclosure: I am the editor of this book.

message 2: by Mark (new)

Mark (mhelfrich) I recently grabbed The Journals of Jim Elliot and want to use it as a devotional reading in the morning besides my own prayer time and Bible reading. He was about my age when he started the journal and his journaling was to write out what God was showing him in his morning times with God. I would like to have a journal that does the same thing.

Kimberly (kimberc) | 3 comments I was just thinking of doing the same thing! I'm reading a small book with selections of David Brainerd's journal. Amazing and encouraging!

Robert Russell (bloggerbob) | 3 comments "JIM ELLIOT: Recorded Messages" (eBook or Print)
Practical messages with amazing insights! This book contains six spoken messages given by this martyred Christian missionary before he left for the mission field in Ecuador. They were transcribed from a wire recorder, a forerunner of the magnetic tape recorder.
The messages are as relevant today as when the messages were given. (This eBook is a significantly expanded version of the print book "Jim Elliot, A Christian Martyr Speaks to You.")
• Young Christians of any age benefit from the understanding gained from Jim's discussions on "Spiritual Desire" and "The Effects of Sin in the Christian."
• Mature Christians appreciate the spiritual meat in his three messages about Jesus Christ and his message about Peter—all four are deep and thought-provoking.
• Missions-oriented Christians and those with an interest in the history of missions find the book riveting.

“A truly inspiring book for all Christians of all ages and all maturity levels, which will deepen their daily walk with their Lord.” ~ Staff Writer, Church News
