Linda2 Just read this review of The Noel Coward Reader, just published, about the composer-playwright-screenwriter, covering mostly his work between the wars:

Definitely a fascinating person! Thanks for posting these, Rochelle and Ivan.

Linda2 I'm a great fan of operetta, Ivan, and I have some of his music. Beautiful schmaltzy stuff.

Ivan I particularly like "If Love Were All." Great song.

Linda2 I also love Someday I'll Find You and I'll See You Again. My mother introduced me to both American and Viennese operetta, and I'm grateful to her.

I could never reconcile the urbane, sophisticated playwright of Design for Living and Private Lives with the operettas Bittersweet and Conversation Piece. You just can't imagine him being schmaltzy.

OK, let's play oneupmanship. You're too young to remember him telling stories on the Jack Parr Tonight Show. Gotcha!

That book will be on my list when it comes out in paperback.
