I am reading The Wild Marquis and about 2/3 of the way through . I'm enjoying it.
I need to get back to crazy for loving you. It's too big to fit into my purse so I don't take it to work.

I read Jill Shalvis's Simply Irresistible over the weekend and loved it. Jax was such a great hero! And I really liked the way he and Maddy interacted together. They were a really good match. I'm looking forward to the next one between Ford and Tara.

This made me go back and pick up the third in her Wilder brothers trilogy Instant Temptation, which I also loved. She's just so good at writing funny, sexy stories. Definitely a gift.

I've just started reading Jill Shalvis. I liked her baseball books, and the Wilder brother trilogy, and Simply Irresistible. What else would you recommend?

Love that Toni Blake, Santa! I'm desperate for Whisper Falls. Desperate.

I haven't ever read Claudia Dain. Do you like her?

I finished The Wild Marquis, and definitely enjoyed it. I also read Christmas at Friday Harbor. I really liked the hero and heroine, and enjoyed the way they dealt with real problems. But it felt like half a book, and I'm not saying that just because its short (although it is!); we never see how the hero comes to terms with a relationship that has real connection and the potential for fights, and we never see the heroine decide she can handle a second commitment after all. Maybe their story will be spun out more in the next book.
I liked it, but I wasn't blown away by it

message 11: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly | 10 comments Ok, I finished Sin Undone today...Fantastic series!
Now I have just started Married by Morning by Lisa Kleypas. I am long overdue to read this one. I have been a bit slow in my reading of late. Time to get caught up!

message 12: by Susan (new)

Susan (susaninaz) | 1075 comments I just finished Elizabeth Boyle's Mad About the Duke, which was wonderful.
I'm now reading Anne Mallory's Seven Secrets of Seduction. Although the two protagonists are from vastly separate English social strata, Anne is making it work for me.

The Amazon pigeon just delivered "Simply Irresistible" to my house yesterday. Can't wait to dive in!

I *love* TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE! It's my favorite book by Higgins.

Pj Ausdenmore (pjpuppymom) | 100 comments I'm reading A MARINE FOR CHRISTMAS (Harlequin Superromance) by Beth Andrews. Beth won a RITA last summer and it won't surprise me one bit if this book ends up as a RITA finalist in 2011.

PJ, I just went to Amazon and read the exceprt for A MARINE FOR CHRISTMAS, and it does sound good! I've got it on my "wishlist" since it said pre-order for kindle users...

I have 2 more to read but I agree. Starting KRISTAN HIGGINS The Next Best Thing

Pj Ausdenmore (pjpuppymom) | 100 comments I just finished The Taming of the Wolfby Lydia Dare. How have I missed this author? I loved this book! It's historical paranormal (during the regency) but more what I would call "paranormal lite." The primary focus of the book is on the love story and while the fact that the hero is lycan is vital to the story, he only "changes" once and then only briefly.

I'm getting read to start a new to me author. I'm getting ready to start Patience by Lisa Valdez.

Monica, I am curious what you think of her. I have read her website and found the excerpt unappealing but I've also read reviews that said it actually was a good book.

I'm reading "Her Best Friend" by Sarah Mayberry. I'm not generally fond of these short Harlequin books but she does a nice job of fleshing out the characters within those constraints.

Susan (susaninaz) | 1075 comments Oooh, EJ Fan, you picked a good one! What do think of Verity's running away from the unknown?

Well DLS, I will say it's a slight bit short on "romance" and heavy on the sex scenes, and not "vanilla sex". I'd classify it more as Erotic romance and less "Historical" romance. Now, for the most part I like my romances steamy, but I'm not sure that I like this book. Hope that helps a little...

Pj Ausdenmore (pjpuppymom) | 100 comments Hey guys, I wanted to let you know that Eloisa is our special guest today at The Romance Dish. We're celebrating our first anniversary this week (lots of giveaways!) and today, Eloisa is blogging with us about the quirky dogs in romance and telling a bit about her February book, WHEN BEAUTY TAMED THE BEAST. She's also giving away an Eloisa James tote bag and a signed UK copy of WHEN THE DUKE RETURNS. Stop by if you get a chance! theromancedish.com

Susan (susaninaz) | 1075 comments EJ Fan,
That's exactly what I meant, and yes, they both were duped. However, Hawkeswell has suffered the last few years while Verity has had it relatively easy... The working out IS the plot of this story, and it's so much fun to grow along with the characters that I don't want to discuss it any more on this open forum. Enjoy. Savor.
