RandomAnthony | 14536 comments We are now entering November, my least favorite month, despite the presence of Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday. November is just...there, at least around here. It's like a suspended sentence of grey blah days until winter starts. Just get it started, winter!

March is my second least favorite month.

My favorite month is probably October or maybe September.

You?

message 2: by Mary JL (new)

Mary JL (maryjl) | 250 comments Ny least favortie is January. Christmas is over; all you have let is the bills; the weather is usally horrible and spring is still a long ways aways.

October is a favorite moth. We have our best weather in the fall.

message 3: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) mmm, hard for me because I am one of those perpetually positive people that finds something good in every month. I love April, the month of trees and flowers bursting into bloom, the smell of freshly mowed grass at the ball park, and my sweet daughters birth. December probably is my least favorite because it is dark so early and people are too stressed out over everything.

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

September kicks butt - I love fall, apple cider, college football, the kids going back to school, having camp fires without having to fend off mosquitos, and cooler temps.

March - not so much. I love winter but by this point it really drags on in Michigan. But then there's St. Patrick's day and I'm half Irish and, well, you know...

message 5: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments november is probably my least favorite month. fall here means rain and wind and cold and i don't like either. i love december, because it has sinterklaas and christmas and the first snow of the year. i need a good winter to forget about those lousy fall months. i also really like spring (as long as it doesn't look like fall) and summer.

message 6: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments march. cold, gray, dreary. the fun and beauty of holiday's are over. you are sick of winter/cold weather. it gives you small glimpses of spring and then smacks your butt back into reality with sideways sleet and biting cold. yeah march. you *(&&^!$%#@

message 7: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments I agree, March is my favorite, some really brilliant people were born that month. The rest I agree with Petra, there are good things about all of them.

message 8: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments with ya hillary.the only month with 37 days. bluh. march madness? march sadness. march, i thumb my nose at thee

btw - welcome to the discussion :)

message 9: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments But you are forgetting all the brilliant people born that month :-)

message 10: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments i love you march babies, just don't want to be at your bday parties anywhere north of the mason-dixon line

message 11: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments Me either, I think I have spent the last three in AZ.

message 12: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments good man. i would LOVE to come to your party there

message 13: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments If I'm there this year the invite will be in the mail.

message 14: by Auntie (new)

Auntie Raye-Raye (fabulousraye) I hate April. I dread it. I know it's a perfectly nice month. For some reason, it's the month that my loved ones like to die in.

I guess June would be my favorite month.

message 15: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimie476) | 664 comments My least favorites are August and September, only because they are the only two really hot months we have in San Diego.

My favorites are April (a lot of birthdays, including mine!) and October (Halloween of course, my grandmother's birthday and my anniversary).

message 16: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
Probably January and February are my least favorite. Cold, damp, boring. February barely seems like a real month because it's short. April also often seems dreary.

message 17: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) January & February are the worst around here -- and April, May, June, October are the best.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

July, August = cold wet and windy. Yetch.

The best month is March, it's cooling off after summer, light breezes, crisp cool mornings, the leaves are starting to change, the smell is divine. Mmmmmmmmm.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I have to agree with the anti-March crowd. It's long, the weather is bad, cold and wet and raw and gray, and there aren't any holidays to provide relief.

My favorite month is July, which is absolutely beautiful here in the Pacific northwest. It doesn't get that hot here, or humid, but I treasure the few hot days we get at the end of July when I can swim in the local lake under a clear blue sky and actually enjoy being cooled off.
Plus, it's my birthday month. :)

Félix (habitseven) Popsicles, Jackie?

message 21: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart March? March means spring break. hell yeah for March.

I can't STAND February.

I hate August. I don't like the heat. It is just too much. I love love love all things fall: September, especially October, and November.

message 23: by Jan (new)

Jan | 241 comments My favorite - and least favorite month is June. The former because the weather is finally beautiful and the latter because the hot, humid weather of July and August are on the horizon.

message 24: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments I never thought about having a least favorite month, but I guess it's probably February. Maybe January. I'm usually done with winter by then, but there's still a long way to go.

message 25: by Gatorman (new)

Gatorman Any month I have to go to work.

message 26: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3594 comments I live in the South, so October is my favorite month. Cool weather is such a relief. There's also something about the angle of the sun that makes everything look golden. And there's a weightiness and feeling of nostalgia, full of sweetness and longing.

message 27: by Lori (new)

Lori April is the cruelest month.

Because April in the PNW is like March in the NE. Still dreary, cold and wet. When I know it should be spring already, like it is in the rest of the US! And there's no guarantee that May will be any better.

July or Sept is my favorite.

message 28: by Aynge (new)

Aynge (ayngemac) | 1202 comments April, because that's when the cherry blossoms bloom.

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
breeding. Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing. Memory and desire, stirring. Dull roots with spring rain

message 30: by ~Geektastic~ (new)

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments Love October, I always look forward to sweater weather and halloween. No love for July, too hot and I get headaches in the summer.

message 31: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) For several years, it seemed that if anything bad was going to happen to me, it happened in May. My best friend, Grandmother, and first dog all died in May. I also had a car accident in May. The jinx has disappeared thankfully and I hardly notice when May rolls around now.

message 32: by Helena (new)

Helena | 1056 comments February is my least favourite month. It seems to be the coldest- it’s bitterly cold and usually very blizzard-y.

Angela~twistedmind~ (twistedmind) | 538 comments I love November. It has finally cooled down enough to be pleasant outside and I love crunching through the fallen acorns (one of my favorite sounds). Even though my birthday is in August, I absolutely hate it. It is too damn hot to do anything outside. Even riding the bike feels like going 70 mph through a furnice.

message 34: by Pat (new)

Pat (patb37) Helena wrote: "February is my least favourite month. It seems to be the coldest- it’s bitterly cold and usually very blizzard-y."
February is my favorite because it is cold and blizzard-y, and there are no holidays to be bothered with.

message 35: by Karen K. (new)

Karen K. Miller (karenkm) | 140 comments I like the fall. September feels like new beginnings, even though I've been out of school forever. I don't like February or March. New England weather sucks during these months.

message 36: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
I like fall too. It does feel like a new beginning. The first day of crisp weather is always nice.

message 37: by Mark (new)

Mark Burns (TheFailedPhilosopher) | 441 comments I hate summer. All my good clothes are for the winter after all. I really hate December though. Christmas.

message 38: by Arminius (last edited Aug 15, 2011 03:33PM) (new)

Arminius March is the only month where you can look forward to seeing the last great snowstorm of the year. Then you have the assurance that the piles of dirty snow which remain in its wake will not last long afterwards.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I don't like fall. It's this reminder that every day is ticking closer to winter.

I like late spring. May's a good month.

message 40: by Jammies (new)

Jammies August sucks, it's too damn hot.

message 41: by Arminius (new)

Arminius What comes in like a lion and leaves like a lamb or conversely comes in like a lamb and leaves like a lion?

Some mythological creature? Or Karl Rove, perhaps.

February is my favorite because it is cold and blizzard-y, and the..."

I don't like Feburary because it is too short to count as a real month and very, very dark. Also the President's BDs are in Feb which are a waste of a good day off. I like the tradition in the UK where the Queen has her BD in June so everyone can have a 3 day weekend in good weather.

message 44: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) February is a tough month for me. I have 8 clients whose cutoff for payday is the 25th of the month. That gives me 3 days to do payroll. If the 25th falls on a Friday, payday is on Monday and it's a scramble.

I don't like February. I like months that have 31 days.

message 45: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Janice wrote: "I don't like February. I like months that have 31 days."

It's not February's fault!

message 46: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) No, it's Julian's fault.

message 47: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I suppose.

message 48: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) Actually, it's Julius Ceasar's fault.

message 49: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I thought he made the salad.

message 50: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) He was a well rounded person.
