Diane U (djuseless) I decided to try and read a non-Amish book for a change. I found The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger at a yard sale for $2. This book is not available for the kindle so I bought it. I tried reading it last night and I cannot get into it. Has this happened to anyone else???

I think that I am going to jump back into the Sister's of the Heart series by Shelley Shepard Gray and read book #2 - Wanted.

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) I loved that book when it first came out, but I was about fifteen at the time so maybe that was why. I have several friends who hated it and others who loved it, so it seems to be one of those books where you have extreme views on it!

At the moment I'm not reading anything Amish (shock! horror!) and instead am catching up on my reading for class, which is currently Effi Briest by Theodor Fontane, so not exactly easy reading.

Janet | 153 comments I am enjoying Always the Baker Never the Bride by Sandra Bricker.

Also the French twist series by Byrd, Sandra was very good.

I really enjoyed the Elm Creek Quilt series by Jennifer Chiaverini. They're a series that best to read in order. There are 16 books to the series, with one more due out in March.

My best friend loves the Mitford series by Jan Karon. But I haven't found the time to try one yet -- too many Amish stories!

I LOVED Always the Baker, Never the Bride. I know Sandie Bricker and she has such a funny, warm touch to her books!!!!!

Diane U (djuseless) Oooh, that's an idea Eva! I have the first Outlander book downloaded on my kindle already (it is a freebie).

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) I've never read the Outlander books but I've heard a lot about them so it will be interesting to hear what you think of them! I've just started a book I got from BookSneeze, Where Hearts Are Free by Golden Keyes Parsons and I'm quite enjoying it. Anyone else read it?

Diane U (djuseless) I had to quit reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I just could not get into it. I was told by several people that the first 60 pages (10%) is super slow and to muddle through it. Well I did, I finished 52% and I still can't do it. I was curious to see what all the hype was about this book so I tried it. So I'm still unsure why it is a NY Bestseller. Did anyone else manage to finish it?
