Per rules of Challenge 6, I'm posting my thoughts here on Maus II: A Survivor's Tale: And Here My Troubles Began, which I read for this challenge (I read Maus I: A Survivor's Tale: My Father Bleeds History several months ago). I read it for Polish American Heritage month. I think this is a great book for that subject. The 2nd book especially deals a lot with Art and his father in America. It deals with how difficult it is to be a survivor of the Holocaust and have children who did not experience it themselves and the huge generational gap that creates.
I don't know what age I think this book would be appropriate for. Probably 14 or so. I'd put both books in with the likes of The Book Thief. I think both books are very inventive ways to tell a horrifying story.
