*Spoiler Warning*
Well I will start with the characters, I didn't like them very much. I'm not sure if it is because I couldn't relate to them or what. I thought Rose was very stuck up and annoying, but I thought it was valiant the way she looked to Lissa. Oh and everyone was saying how wonderful and amazing Dimitri was and i really couldn't see what was so great about him.. He was a bit... well dull.. and it was really cliched, like dark tall good looking guy falls for main chick but then they can not be together but they still like each other anyway. One of the things I was glad about in this book was that there was no love triangle! That was a plus...

The writing was poor. It really wasn't very well written and the flash backs just didn't flow. They were irritating and annoying and did not enjoy reading them.

Your right I didn't like most of them but Christen I think was the most interesting.. And Lissa was ok apart from being unstable and depressed. (Which I know why and I understand but i still didn't really like how they made her all depressive.)

Less when I read twilight I actually like it but then I started reading better books.. Cause when I read twilight I wasn't reading much. Not like I do now anyway..

I have just started the second book and as much as the beginning annoyed me it is starting to get better...

Here is my review. Now, there might be slight spoilers....I'm not sure.

Okay....I finally finished this book. FINALLY. Oh mygosh, it took me forever to finally just sit down and finish this book >.< And, other books, and homework are not the reason it took me so long...it was just simply the book.

Likes:

Christian! Ohmyword, I loooooved Christian. He seemed the most level-headed character except for Lissa out there.

Mason. I felt so bad for Mason, he loved Rose and she totally pushed him off for that other dude. That I hated. What was his name? Oh yeah, Dimitri. >.<

Okay, now I did like Dimitri I will admit. He was hot, beautiful, I mean the perfect guy I guess. But maybe I'd like the girl to just pick the NOT SO OBVIOUS ONE. Idk, I guess I'm kinda hard to please whn it comes to books :P

Lissa. Man, that girl is so kool. Except for maybe being a bit whiny....she was a really great character.

Dislikes:

Rose. Oh my gosh.....hit me with a shovel, please. I can't even go into how much I hated her, ugh. There was sooo much talk about her being "so tough and hard to fight" etc. And now she's a little weakling? WTK? *sigh* whatever.

Dimitri, sure he was a bit smart; but also SO STUPID! XP

The book overall, was a good idea. Good plot, climax, etc. I guess that it was just the characters that I had a problem with. All in all...I'm giving this book 3 starts.

Oh, i really liked Christian, too. AND HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT FOR ROSE AND DIMITRI????????
They are like, two of my favorite characters! Dimitri is so NOT stupid. And Rose really is a good fighter......there just isn't enough action in the book..........

I'm sorry...that is just my own opinion, olo. I guess that I like the connection between Rose and Dimitir. I agree w/ you; he is smart....but, sometimes he just seemed so dumb to me. Idk.

Idk, I think that I mean dumb in the sense that they are always staring at eachother and never talk or anything. Does that even make sense? >.< Sorry, I'm still half-asleep.

I really actually don't see how people can like Dimitri! I mean he was supposed to be this hot goodlooking, awesome russion guy and he just wasn't. I can't see what all the fuss is about! He had so much potential and i just think that he wasn't that great.

Also I agree with you Luna that Rose is not that great a character. I really thought she was stuck up! I really didn't like her..

Well, the point is that no one's perfect! In shadow-kiss that's what Mead was trying to say by showing that even someone like Dimitri, who's a really good guardian, could not always win. If you like characters with perfection, then be my guest to read about 'beautiful' Edward in Twilight.

Ugh. Don't even mention Edward(Edwart ;D).

I don't like characters that are perfect cause no one is perfect! I just obviously read different books to you. And i'm slightly insulted that you think that just because i don't like VA means i am in love with twilight. I do not like Edward and I never have. Also you shouldn't take it so personally that I do not like VA. Its just a book series its not that big a deal!

Thats cool I can understand how you can feel about a book series you really love, its just I didn't enjoy them as much as everybody else happens to. And I'm really not offended.
