One big theme of this chapter, a heavy emphasis on formal and informal documentation, rarely applies today outside of language, virtual machine and processor architectures. Another theme, technical dispute resolution, is very relevant today, and I think the tips for structuring meetings and resolving issues are terrific.

The "two implementations" recommendation also appears today in the Internet RFC process, which requires two independent implementations to interoperate as part of the standards process progression.

Good chapter. I liked the formal and informal mixed solution approach. I had been expecting a preachy chapter, but it wasn't like that at all.

The word "backlog" jumped out at me. It was interesting to see an agile-scrum keyword.
