Kaila (monkeytamer) Lisa got me thinking, what are the best books you've read this past year? It might be a good way to get exposed to books we might not have known about.

For me, hands down, The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson was the best book I read. It is so hard for me to express exactly how much this book touched me. It was such a beautiful and heart wrenching story. I have never been so profoundly moved by a book before.

I also loved The Passage (The Passage, #1) by Justin Cronin and The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson .

Hmmmm, that is a difficult question. Two of my favorites, were The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins and The Help by Kathryn Stockett . I also enjoyed Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead , Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward and Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost for my paranormal fix. I also enjoyed Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens . I guess I can't make up my mind.

Can't make up your mind...so unlike you Lisa. I loved the The Hunger Games Trilogy Boxset by Suzanne Collins (even with my issues with Mockingjay). I also was inspired by American Terroir Savoring the Flavors of Our Woods, Waters, and Fields by Rowan Jacobsen . It really helped me appreciate food and everything that goes into producing it (loved that book!).

Kaila (monkeytamer) Lisa, I've been wanting to check out the Vampire Academy. Glad you liked it.

Kerri, American Terroir sounds so interesting. We watch Top Chef all the time. Hopefully one day when my kids are older I'll have time to explore finer cooking.

I did like Vampire Academy. I became hooked on the whole series for that matter!

Enid | 10 comments I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! I thought I'd jump in here and share. My favorite books this year were The Book Thief The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society Fahrenheit 451 Wuthering Heights

I forgot about The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I really enjoyed that one also. It might be easier for me to put down the books that I did not like in 2010.:)
