right now, the book I'm reading the main characters are by the sea...but can't tell exactly where the seaside is (California or the East Coast or maybe even the coast of England)

The Character of my just started book is in Israel, working as an Archaeologist in Qumran ( חירבת קומראן‎ )

The second Messiah is originally written in english, but funny enough the german edition is already published but the english will follow only in August this year.

Keep going, he'll grow on you (maybe). I like his sparse writing -- nothing froufrou, just straight to the point, clean and direct...

I don't think so :-( I don't like his conversations, repetitive, circular, two pages of "Do you love me? You're a good boy." "I do love you, I really do. You're a wonderful girl." ...

From Qumran the left for TelAviv and now they are in Rome.

Sounds interetsing Feodora... Too bad it's not in English.

I'm reading a LibraryThing Early Reader book that took 6 months to get to me. It's called The Nobodies Album and right now, the setting is in San Francisco. An interesting part of the book includes the main character, an author, writing a book that is a compilation of redos of the final chapters of her other novels. Talk about the ultimate "do-over"! (This is by the woman who wrote Dogs of Babel.)

I just switched to a tiny book from a bookbox. A friend gave it to me. So for a short while I was in the Brambly Hedge. How sweet that was and the nice pictures. I was really delighted and I have still some to put inbetween....

The author is in Irian Jaya (the old New Guinea), the other half of the island of Papua New Guinea. He's trying to get to the highest mountain, but keeps being thwarted by bureaucracy and weather.

It took me a while to figure out just where my main character is...finally figured it out, for sure, and it is Aberdeen County in New York (state). (The Little Giant of Aberdeen County)
