Kristi (kristicoleman) Ok, since you have all finished the book, how many stars should we give it as a group??

Loretta (lorettalucia) I can't speak for the group, but it was a 3.5 star read for me, which I rounded up to 4.

Kristi (kristicoleman) Yep, I just want everyone to put what they would rate it, and then I will average the count and rate it that way! Thanks Loretta!

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) I gave it 4 stars. I really enjoyed it and it has made me rethink my ban on Stephen King books.

Andrea I gave it 5 stars! I don't give a lot of 5's but I really loved this book!

Nathalie (natjen29) I gave it 5 stars too. :)
A well styled novel. It's the best in its category I think.

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) Well, I'm probably biased, but I gave it 5 stars. 50 would've been more accurate, though. It's my all-time favorite. I love the characters, I'm at home w/ them and care about them. And the story really moves me......everytime!

Samantha Leighanne (sleighanne) I gave it a 4.5 :]

Ronyell (rabbitearsblog) I've got to read this book soon, but I'll give my rating soon.

Biblio Curious (bibliocurious) | 164 comments I read Salem's Lot and Under the Dome by him. I wasn't incredibly impressed. He can give wicked descriptions but I find 1Q84 has far better craft for a contemporary novel.

Would you still recommend reading The Stand? (I also adored The Strain by Chuck Hogen)

Sarah I would. I'm not a Stephen King fan and I didn't like Salem's Lot but I do like The Stand. Like all of his books, there is a lot of description that kind of bogs the story down in places but the overall story is worth reading at least once. I've been meaning to re-read it.
