Read the instructions completely before you jump into this because this "event" requires multiple steps. I call it an "event" instead of a challenge simply because I want you to be able to use any books chosen here for other challenges in this group.

1) If your interested in this "event" then post that you're in. Then, look through your shelves or check out your library. List 10 books that you already own, but just don't seem to ever pick up (any genre). If you don't have a bunch of extra books lying around then go through your library and find books that you know they already have. The reason why I say to find things you have easy access to is so that you don't have to break your bank for this. Ideally you'll do this without spending a dime. However, if there's a book you're dying to purchase, but you need a valid excuse to justify the purchase then go ahead and include it, but try to stick to things you can get for free or already own. Also, try and stick to things that you want to read, but never seem to get to. Putting the new Mooning book in your list defeats the point a bit because you'll probably read it no matter what. Stick to things that aren't brand new releases for this part.

Step 1 needs to be completed by January 22nd.

2) I will randomly pair up participants and post the list of who you've got as a partner. You will then review their list and pick 5 books from their list for them to read.

3) You'll then browse through your partners TBR pile and pick out 8-10 titles that you think they'd enjoy. If there's something not on their list but you know they'll love it then feel free to include it. Just try to keep at least half of the picks from their TBR list since you know they're already interested in those titles.

Steps 2 and 3 need to be done before February 1st.

4) Read the 5 books your partner chose from your picks and at least one book from their recommendations. Feel free to read more if you're willing.

You should be done with your reads by the end of June. If you guys like this then let me know and we can do it again in July.

I know! I keep meaning to and then don't. That's why I thought if I set this up I'd finally have to. I keep using all of these for challenges and then changing my picks after reading something else. This way someone else picks and I can't weasel out of it and change anything.

message 6: by Angela (new)

Angela B That is very true :)

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

this is such a good idea! I keep saying I'll read certain books and then I never get to it. I don't have a TBR shelf though, but I figure that if my partner randomly recs me 8-10 titles then I'm sure I'll find one I like.

Looking for Alaska by John Green Willow by Julia Hoban Uglies (Uglies, #1) by Scott Westerfeld Grave Sight (Harper Connelly, #1) by Charlaine Harris Fire (The Seven Kingdoms, #2) by Kristin Cashore Perchance to Dream (Théâtre Illuminata, #2) by Lisa Mantchev Warrior (The Blades of the Rose, #1) by Zoe Archer Bitten (Women of the Otherworld, #1) by Kelley Armstrong To Catch a Pirate by Jade Parker The Observations by Jane Harris

Last few days if you want to join or post your list!!!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 827 comments I'm going to bow out of this one. I really want to do it, but I keep trying to sign up for every single challenge and find myself getting only halfway on some of them. I'd rather do a few and complete them then do several and not complete any.

message 19: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 5931 comments Mod
NO promblem Stacia. That's part of the reason why I figured you could use these books for your other challenges.

message 21: by Lisa S (new)

Lisa S (kasey_k_fan) Sure Heather! I'll pick for 2.
