The Fallen Volume 1 (The Fallen & Leviathan) by Thomas E. Sniegoski The Fallen: Volume 1 by Thomas E. Sniegoski

I've just read the prologue but it has been the best one that I have read in a long long time.

message 2: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Evernight. I am meh about it right now. I like the concept and the writing is decent, but I don't like Bianca. She's very Bella Swan, twilight, a whimpy, whining, weak heroine. I know she's 16 and that most teenage girls aren't super strong, but I prefer my literary characters to be strong and confident. I hope she grows so she's not so dependent on Lucas, he love interest...

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

I have not heard the greatest things about those books. However, I cannot concur because I've yet to try for myself.

message 4: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer I keep hearing mixed things. Oh well, I'm more than half way done so might as well finish. I keep hoping it will get better!

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

I hope the ending with me nicely tied together for you.

message 16: by KSMary (new)

KSMary Good! I've been wanting to read The Angel's Game for a while now and finally picked it up at the library last weekend. I finished The Chocolate War today. I now understand why it has been challenged before. Nothing too shocking by today's standards; however, I can see the uproar when it was first published. Interesting characters.

Amy Eye | 23 comments Right now I am TRYING to read Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell....I'm not sure if I can finish it or not. I was really excited about it when I read the reviews, but it seems to be getting more into politics and the French War...Does anyone know if it is like this through the WHOLE book? If so, I'm not going to try to get through all 800 pages...

This book honestly was better then I expected it to be. I bought it with a handful of other books. I think it was the cover that drew me in. I've had it for awhile and the angel theme was calling to me for a few challenges.

I will be reading book 2.
