Hi Lollie...Yes, I know of your country. Glad to see you here and we like the same genres. Yay, I can skim your shelves...

I live in California, USA. I am an electronics tech. Other than reading, I play WoW as a great way to wind down on some days. I have two boys, 20 and 10 years old. They are awesome.

LOL! Lolliepop, enjoyed your nickname and introduction. At the moment I am my favorite color....lavender! I am also OT (Off Topic) as I seem to get onto different ideas and cannot resist emailing about them which some groups cannot bear.
I was an Air Force brat and Air Force wife so have traveled to many places. I have lived in Japan, Newfoundland and England plus visited Iceland, Luxembourg and Germany. I wish I could travel more but poor health now. My son was just in Malaysia from Japan (he is there with the AF). We are going to Taos NM tomorrow.
I am currently in Colorado, USA. It took me a long time to move here but I came here for years on vacation.

Hello Lady Lavender! Glad to have you here!! I really wanted to travel around the world and I wanted to visit countries like France, Japan, Russia, Australia, Spain, China, India, and so many other countries. I'm always eager in learning about other cultures, so visiting them sounds fun! How was it in Japan and Germany Lavender?

Japan was wonderful. I lived there for two years and we lived on base. At that time the military stationed there were encouraged to hire a Japanese maid so my sister and I often had one taking care of us. My sister spoke Japanese first! I have wonderful memories and I am still very influenced by Japanese art and gardens.

I would love to continue traveling but .....
Travel while you are young and have the energy for it.
Now I read Bill Bryson and get some laughs from his travels.

Remember there is lots to see here too.

In a Sunburned Country

Lady Maria Hi I am Lady Maria and i just jonied this group.I love to read books and I come from small country, precisely Bosnia , which was a part of ex Yugoslavia. In our country we have lots of problems with racism.I hate it and i think that all people are even, and that not all of us have to be rich. And I think that we shoud repect people how they work not just on color of their skin, their opinions or on chlotes they wear.I go to high school, that is called Catholic Gymnasium and it is no different from any other school but people still judge.I now how ugly is filling when you now that you are not different but still could hear all other children judging you because you love to study.I was so surprised when i saw this group.I am glad i did because I believe that there are some people in the world who wants this to change and have similar opinions...

Will Granger | 5 comments Hi everyone,

I look forward to discussing books and these topics with you all. I have written two books in a YA series that touch on the illogical hatred that can exist between two groups of people. I see that some of you have traveled, and I have also been able to see a lot of the world. I think it helps to see how other people live. It helps one realize that people are not really different, regardless of where or when they live.

T. Denise (TDeniseRobinson) | 3 comments My name is T. Denise Robinson but my friends and family call me (Trin, pronounced Treen)I am a published author and award winning screenwriter. I have dealt with racism and bullying all my life. I'm Native American and being referred to as a half-breed or redskin was a real downer when I was in middle school. I have a debut middle grade urban fantasy novel that is about to be released in ebook followed by the print version. It's a story about four physically challenged kids who are bullied constantly and how they deal with the diversity. Even the title of my book is causing a little bit of controversy, but if controversy is what it takes to get people to talk about a horrific worlwide problem, I'm game :)

Hello Denise! It's great having you here! I'm sorry about what happened to you. It's a shame that people would tease everyone who are different and it's something that I wish we could help everyone understand that it's never good to tease or bully anyone based on their race.

message 40: by T. (new)

T. Denise (TDeniseRobinson) | 3 comments Thanks Ronyell - You have a pretty cool Web site, which I joined by the way... Bullying is out of control just as racism and bigotry. It drives me bonkers... LOL

message 42: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Davie (kathydavie) | 100 comments Hey, Denise, what's the title??

message 43: by T. (new)

T. Denise (TDeniseRobinson) | 3 comments Kathy, it's called "The Little Rednecks and a Town Full of Bullies" As you can imagine, the title of my book is also a little on the controversial side and has caused quite a few heated discussions among my peers and fellow authors. The whole book is about bullying and stereotypes. Most people who use the word redneck use it in a derogatory way, thanks mostly in part to Jeff Foxworthy. Contrary to popular belief redneck is a term that should be respected and I want people to know exactly what it means. I talk about it on my blog so if you really want to know what a redneck is, check it out :)

Eden Silverfox (tsalagi_writer) Hi everyone. My name is Eden and I am a writer. I am Cherokee and have experienced a great deal of racism throughout my life. Sometimes it is because I am American Indian, but mostly I've experienced racism because my skin is white. I am against prejudice and that is why this group caught my eye. I look forward to getting to know you all.
