Aynge (ayngemac) | 1202 comments What song from Hell do you often find stuck in your head?

Right now mine is Poker Face. My niece keeps singing it. ARGH!

Brittomart Ppppoker face pppokerface. mamamama

It's usually some song that my suitemates are singing. In my family, I'm always singing something that gets stuck in my brother's fiancee head.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) A couple of weeks ago it was Xanadu.

message 5: by Hanna (new)

Hanna (ohanners) | 202 comments Sometimes it's "I want to hold your hand" by the Beatles and then other times it's "I wanna grow old with you" by Adam Sandler...they are such persistent songs

I used to annoy people with that song from the kid show with puppets sitting in the trees, I think the main character was lamb chops?

"This is the song that never ends.
Yes it goes on and on my friend.
Some people started singing it
not knowing what it was.
And they continued singing it forever
just because this is the song that never ends.....
yes it goes on and on my friend."

And it really does go on and on, haha!

message 6: by Hanna (new)

Hanna (ohanners) | 202 comments Oh, the ultimate song from hell that causes S.S.S.

Do you remember-Jay Sean

A friend of mine jumps and screams every time this track comes up (while driving), then plays it again just to spite me. Sadly I know all the words so the song stays with me all day, then I play it on my phone later to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

Stop the Chain!

janine | 7709 comments when i get a song stuck in my head i'll listen to music or play y.m.c.a. in my head, which somehow gets rid of the stuck song but doesn't get stuck itself.

"Self Control" by Laura Branigan. My wife hummed that song this morning after a brief conversation about our daughter losing control of her glass of milk. Next thing you know, that damned song is in my head. Not that it's a terrible song, but, yeah, it's stuck in my head.

Yay!

(In my neck of the woods we call stuck songs earworms)

message 18: by Jammies (new)

Jammies They're earworms here too, Sarah. And mine for the last couple of days has been "Minnie the Moocher".

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

It's not so much what song that drives me nuts, it's when it's a song that I only really know one line of, so that one line is running over and over and over like a skipping record!

message 20: by Helena (new)

Helena | 1056 comments Just a Friend by Biz Markie. Ugh.

Sarah | 13814 comments Helena wrote: "Just a Friend by Biz Markie. Ugh."

My sister saw Biz Markie open for the Beastie Boys in Toronto when she was in high school He spoofed his own song, singing "You - you got a hair weave/but you say it's your real hair/yes you say it's your real hair/oh baby..."

Rachmaninov 2nd piano concerto. Playing short loops in my head for the past 3 days.

message 28: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments When I'm anxious I play short loops in my head instead of sleeping. For me it's not good. Is it good for you LG?

Is the earworm a sign of anxiety? Actually that wouldn't surprise me. I've been a little anxious lately.

No, it's not good for me.

The last one to get stuck in my head was Moskau by Dschinghis Khan. Its so CORNY but still somewhat catchy...here's a link

CD | 1577 comments Unfortunately at the moment I have several refrains left over from the 'event/party' down the street from where I spent part of my July 4th.

The most obnoxious one that 'I know' was:

Sorry you looked now???

The rest of the 4th celebration was just fine.

It gets stuck there frequently. No rhyme or reason for it making an appearance and, once it does, it doesn't want to leave.

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Ha! My phone wouldn't play it. :P. stopped it dead after a few seconds.

Who in America even knows who Kylie is?

Could be worse, could have been her sister Dannii...
