I just go in the mail today a book I swapped for on Swaptree.com:

That's crazy!! I enter in to win books all the time and never do win...what is the First Reads?? Is that the same as the regular giveaways??

^^ Yep. GoodReads has free book giveaways. Regular giveaways? Uhm, that's the only giveaway I sign up for so I don't know others (apart from LibraryThing). It's sort of like a sweepstakes system; you enter your name and they draw out a random winner or winners.

That is the same thing! I looked at it again yesterday and it does say First Reads. I'm so jealous!! I never win!!

If you go into the "explore" tab you will find the giveaways about 4 options down. Good luck!!

Wow, that's a long list. I have won 2 or 3 from that goodreads give-away. I feel bad trying for more, because their idea is that you will read it quickly and write a review, so that they can sell books when it comes out... these are Advanced Reader copies, kind of a final draft before it's actually published. I can also get these sometimes from my sister, through her bookstore. I try to keep the numbers down, as I said, because I have a zillion books to read and can't promise I'll get to the AR copies quickly enough.
