When I visited other groups, I know I feel overwhelmed most times and don’t know where to start so I hope this “sitemap” to our group will help you understand the workings of the group.
Firstly, do Introduce yourself so we may joyfully welcome the individual you to the group.
In the Welcome & Ice Breakers folder are discussion threads containing general ice breaker questions to get to know you better and sometimes general announcements.
Our main activity which is conducted monthly is called ‘Pick-a-Shelf’, therefore the next most important folder: Pick-a-Shelf: Monthly. Check out the How to section to see how it works. We hope you will take up the challenge and join us reading the shelf of the month.
We would also, most of the time, have some sort of reading challenge games going on; the rules of the games can be found in the Games – General Thread folder.
At the moment we have:
1. LOST (Longest On Shelf To-read) 2022. This challenge aims to read 10 books that have been on the shelf the longest by the end of this year.
2. Moving Mountains (2022 Ed). This challenge aims to trim down your shelf for which you can set own goals and/or pace; you can start at anytime.
3. Seriously Serial '22 for the serial (books) reader.
4. By the Month... -a challenge to trim down your TBR both by reading old and new books
5. Just Read It! (Music edition) which is our Annual challenge.
6. Trim That TBR -I think the name speaks for itself ;)
I will try to update this ‘sitemap’ as things change within the group however I can confirm information is correct as at January 1, 2022.
Feedback / Suggestion are welcome, so please do not hesitate to contact us.
Last but not least, welcome to Pick-a-Shelf and we look forward to getting to know you.
