Hi, I'm L.C. Evans, (Linda) and my book is Night Camp. It's about a couple of summer camp counselors who happen to be vampires with a secret. Main character Shane, his cousin Brad, and friend Nicole set out to save themselves and the other campers, but then they discover the secret and everything changes.
I also have a 10 year old grandson, the Boy, who lives with us and I'm always looking for good books that will encourage him to read. I have a Kindle, but I got a wifi Nook for the Boy He likes humor, sports, ghosts. Of course, he tells me Night Camp is the best book he's ever read.

Velvet Ball and The Broken Fairy

Hi Debi and everyone, I'm Trish. This thread is so exciting.

My book: Velvet Ball and The Broken Fairy is about a nine-year-old bald girl who developed alopecia after a long illness. She gets bullied at school, but when she takes a fairy home that she finds in the wood, she thinks that will solve her problems. Trouble is, the fairy didn't pay attention in Magic School and doesn't know how to fly, or grant wishes, plus she's rude, demanding and spoiled. She does nothing but get Velvet into trouble with her unsuspecting parents. Velvet's thinking of taking the little snot back to the forest, but before she has a chance, the bullies kidnap the fairy, thinking she’s Velvet’s doll. Now Velvet has to save the fickle Roseberry or who knows what will happen to her.

H Patricia: so great to know of another "snotty little fairy" out to get her girl into trouble.

I saw it on Amazon, but it didn't say you could download it on kindle. I have the free kindle reader that I downloaded from Amazon and also the one from Barnes and Noble and Smashwords.

I read the first chapter and thought it delightful. will you be selling it as an eBook?

I love fairy stories. I wrote mine after buying a weird-looking fairy doll in a curiosity shop. Strange toys always inspire me. I love how you were inspired.

This looks like a great resource for writers and readers both.

I'm in the former category, mostly. Although I do read, too. I currently have a 50k-word middle grade adventure on Amazon.com as an eBook. The title is "A Tale of Two Hearts". It's Book One in The Treasure of Morro Bay trilogy. I won't take the time to include the blurb copy on it, but if you're interested, I'd love to have you read it and give me your review on Amazon. It's currently selling as a Kindle eBook for only 99 cents. The paperback is in the final proofing stages and should be released before the end of the month. I hope you'll give it a shot. I've had lots of middle graders tell me they really liked it and can't wait for the sequel.

Hi all, good to be here! Most of my books I'd classify as young adult--more specifically, I wrote them for 'me when I was ten years old'. However, The Boy & Little Witch is a gentler, more whimsical story about two best friends journeying across a lonely land to find their stolen headwear--definitely appropriate for kids 7+ (and people of a gentler disposition, my mother loves it :) In the interests of non-controversy, that's the only book of mine I've added to this group.

@Patricia -- my book is on Kindle @ Amazon. Don't know why you couldn't find it. It shows both print & Kindle versions. Let me know if you ever did find the Kindle version pls.

Hi! I am a fairly new kindle owner and my kids all love it! I have a (almost) 10 yr old (almost) 7 year old and a 4 year old! I have thought about getting my 10 year old one for his birthday, I figure if the excitement of some new technology gets him reading I'm all for it! They have lots of paperback books, but e books are great to use in a restaurant to keep them busy or even in the car! We are always looking for new children's books and was told this is the best place to start!

Welcome, Kristina! I hear more and more parents are sharing their kindles with their children and buying them for the older ones. Kids love technology so it should be a win win for all.

Yes, welcome, Kristina! I bought my 10-year-old a Kindle and have never regretted the decision. The nice part is that there is a growing selection of material for them to e-read, too.

BTW Everyone, my Middle Grade book Page Truly and The Journey To Nearandfar has started to sell on Kindle & Nook. I take that as a sign that either a) more parents are reading to/with the kids on e-readers or b) more kids are getting e-readers or c) both.

It's funny that you mention selling well on the Nook, LB -- my LilyPad Princess is doing well there (not a runaway success or anything -- yet -- but it's selling better than my other two books by 2 to 1 at least).

Hi all. I just found this discussion and enjoyed reading the replies. I'm super excited to hear that popularity is growing for kids e-books. I just got my first Kindle for Christmas and absolutely love it! But I'm super excited about the kids and e-books because I have two MG/Tween books coming out as e-books this year. 'Ghost Dog of Roanoke Island', a ghost story revolving around the mystery of the Lost Colony comes out in September and 'A Horse Called Trouble', a story of a troubled girl and an abused, defiant horse comes out in December. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Yay for e-books.

Hi, I'm glad to find this group! My book is The House in Windward Leaves, available on Kindle, Nook, at Smashwords, and in paperback. It's a middle grade Halloween fantasy with more humor than horror. My cover image doesn't come up yet but I'll put it on the site when it does. I'll also be putting part of the book at my author site on Goodreads.

At this Halloween party, costumes make the child. The painter Mistral's mural transports Sadie and her friends to a star where their Halloween costumes become real. As Fortuneteller, Sadie only has to look in her crystal ball to see the adventures of her friends in their dream identities. The hunt for a star-of-sapphire necklace takes up the latter chapters of this madcap fantasy.

I'm an Australian author and my children's fantasy novel The Dragon Box came out on Kindle last week. It's aimed at boys, especially those who are not inclined towards sports.

In short: James is new to town and suffering at the hands of two members of his football team, who like to tease him for his lack of ability. He's befriended by his old neighbour, an inventor, who gives him a strange-looking electronic game. When he turns it on, he finds himself in a new world, where he's a knight with a quest to save the Kingdom of Grobnog from a wicked witch. Interestingly, just about everyone in this Kingdom looks like someone from real life, including two troublesome goblins.

I've just published Noah Zarc: Mammoth Trouble. A science fiction novel for kids 9-12(ish). I'll add it to this group's to be read list. I'd love to here your feedback on it. Here's the jacket copy:
