The Three Word Minimum

This asks that you detail your sentences and use at least 3 words in each. What we're asking is that you provide enough detail in your sentences so others know what your character is doing and have something to build on.

You don’t have to write 20 paragraphs or anything super long, but some members (including myself) would like more to build on when roleplaying. Enough detail to let others know where your character is going/looking/is would be great.

A good strategy is to think about how the other characters are going to react to yours. Set it up so they have somewhere to go with what you've written.

For instance this is a ‘3 word sentence’ –

Jacob walked up and gave her a hug.

- That doesn’t really give a lot of detail does it? Jacob walked from where? Gave who a hug? Did he pull back from the hug? Or are they still hugging?

Try to flesh it out with a little more detail–

Jacob stood up from the park bench when he saw Maria and smiled, he walked up to her giving her a hug, kissing her cheek as he pulled away.

- It gives us all the answers we need: where is Jacob, who is he hugging, does he pull away? This is perfectly adequate and only a little longer. It’s understandable if you have writers block though, just put that at the top in parenthesis and don't worry about it.

Please make an effort to avoid posting 3 word sentences, they are too short for us to reply, but remember to have fun with it.

If posters continuously ignore the guidlines:

Step One: You will get three warnings through PM's and some guidance to help you understand the Three Word Minimum better.

Step Two: If after the warnings you continue to misbehave you may be suspended for up to 2 weeks before returning on 'parole.'
- If the problem continues, there may be additional consequences.
