Nyla (nilly21) | 24 comments So, I'm at my parents house for the weekend and I happen to be going through a bunch of the books that I have stashed here. As I've found more books, I started to notice that I have a few books from the 7th & 8th grade and a few from high school that I never returned to the classroom that they came from! WOW...I have atleast 6 books that I've kept from the school. I'm actually surprised they allowed me graduate with all the books I never returned.

Anyone else have some books that they just "forgot" to return?

I've got two books a friend loaned to me over a decade ago that I've been hemming and hawing over what to do with them. I lost touch with him long ago and at the moment have no idea where he is, so I can't return them without a lot of digging. I've been tempted to sell them since I really don't want them, but I feel guilty about doing that since they really aren't mine. Got any suggestions?

Johanness (cookiesandcute) | 23 comments I did up until the start of this year, 2 books from year 7&8, math text books from year 7-10. (I'm pretty sure I've returned most of these)
My friends twilight book that she leant me in year 8, that I've never read cause I just can't, and my Japanese teachers novel form year 7, that I just couldn't finish. (I've still got these somewhere...)
O-o'

When I was about seven I borrowed these two titanic books from someone and to this day I have never returned them. And now I live in a whole different state so....yeah.

Ashley Marie I "borrowed" a copy of Freedom Train: The Story of Harriet Tubman from my classroom library in probably fifth grade. I remember it being in not-the-best shape to begin with, and the cover eventually fell off... not sure what happened to it.

I also never returned my copy of the High School Musical libretto when we performed it at a community theatre... I think that's still around here somewhere...

Ken (ogi8745) | 12 comments Same here
I have a couple of books from a friend in high school

I havent talked to the fellow since then, I graduated in 86. I don't even remember his name. I wanted to return them to him but it's been a long time, and btw, I dont quite remember the books I borrowed. I think it was the first Dragonlance books but I am not 100% sure. Heh

Tiffany (herbtiff) I have some books that I borrowed and never returned. I actually do still have connections to the people, but only the one knows that I have their books because I mentioned it. I asked if they knew which they could be and they didn't, so we are not stressing it.

After that much time I would say sell the books and get something you want. He won't remember and if he does he isn't in your circle of friends anymore, so no guilt.

I don't!

Moloch | 9 comments Some years ago I found in my father's study a book that looked interesting. He said a friend gave it to him, and I assumed he meant as a gift. My father doesn't read much, so he gave it to me. Some time later I discovered that it wasn't really a gift... but the friend never asked and the book is still in my library!

Otherwise, I don't recall other instances. Sadly it's more common that someone doesn't give me back my books! :-)
