David Housholder | 1 comments ....I got all inspired to tell the story of the Moffenmeiden, Dutch girls who were humiliated publicly after World War 2 for having dated German occupation soldiers.

Summerside Press is coming out with the novel in June:

The Blackberry Bush

The story has nothing to do with the Alchemist, but something "happened" to me while reading it, which caused me to write.

I am sure this has happened to millions of people while reading the Alchemist.

What happened to you while you were reading the story?

Jennifer Donohoe | 2 comments This is also the first book of Mr. Coelho's I read. It's such a wonderful read. I couldn't put it down and was disapointed when it ended. I have subsequently gotten as many of his other books I could. Fifth Mountain and Veronika Decides to Die are wonderful too.

I did the same. The ending wasn't disappointing, but it was disappointing that it ended. It was like a drug - the first one was free but got me hooked. I love the guy. Great insights into humanity. His writing reminds me of some the Beatle's lyrics. Howz that for a bizarre connection?

Sorry it took so long for me to respond. I think your comments completely covers him as a write. Beatles? Well, a lot of the Beatles lyrics were political in some sense. :-)
