How do you choose what to read next? Hopefully this folder will help! Feel free to ask and provide recommendations by genre, vibe (easy going, quick read), whatever you think!

Tracy Y | 9 comments I don't have a method of chosing my next read, and it kind of drives me nuts. I search blogs and discussion boards and watch for POI post of facebook! Books can be so expensive and I'm on budget, so I search for the great books at a bargin price.

I found a really great freebie for my Kindle a couple of months ago called NO GOOD DEED. I recommend it, especially considering it's only .99 as of today! It's the first book of two, so finish it and start the next one, MARCH TO HELL, for just $2.99.

Edie | 1 comments I usually check the best seller lists and then check reviews. Or if I just finished a book and liked it, I will search that author and pick another book he or she has written. I am also in a book club and we throw around likes and dislikes. I am a huge fan of The Help by Kathryn Stockett

Jennifer (jennifer2kids) | 8 comments I try to switch up genres. I have a lot of TBR books on Kindle and quite a few DTB's still left to read.

I look everywhere for book ideas. Magazines, online book club, POI and "amazon recommends" etc.

Sue (suedunbar) I am reading a thriller just now so will go for something different next. I normally look through the book titles on my Kindle and hope one jumps out at me or I go have a look at the freebies and see whats there. Sometimes I ask my brother what he recommends.

Scott Nicholson (scottnicholson) I am usually busy reading the books of writer friends! Don't really have to choose since I take them in order.

Karen Ng (karenand3) I love the http://www.indiebound.org/indie-next-..., and it usually coincides with the editor's picks of Amazon!!

Heather (heather124) | 1 comments Most of the books on my kindle are either free ones I got (thank you!) or ones that friends have recommended. I don't know what I'm going to read next until I finish the book I'm reading and see what genre I'm in the mood for.

message 9: by Lori (new)

Lori | 2 comments Before my Kindle I usually chose books by author, reccomendation of a friend or what a friend was willing to lend. Now, for the past several months, I'm reading free Kindle selections. I pick through their free selections only choosing those I think I might be interested in. It's been a hit and miss kind of thing, but frankly, choosing off a NY Times list or even reccomendations of friends can be like that too so....all in all it's worked.

Crystal (crystalmpope) | 8 comments I go all over the board choseing my next read. I went from Vamps & Wherewolfes, to Christian Fiction to Fantsy and back to Christian fiction, I never know what is next.

Ruth (ruthie1) I am in several on line book clubs...so put all books to read for clubs in a collection on kindle....then when I am done with one...grab another...lol..

Jenny Hilborne (jfhilborne) | 3 comments I buy mostly from recommendation and back cover blurb and always online. My latest downloads came from blurb posted on Facebook, POI and Goodreads.

Karen B. (raggedy11) Lora, could you give me the info to get the sites to send out the lists of free books please? Just add me as a friend if you don't mind.

Jennifer, I'm new to this what are DTP's & POI

I belong to the old book of the month club and their prices are always cheaper than Amazon's. I read over the reviews, I keep a list and move books around on it. Whatever is number 1 they send to me around the 16th of the month. It cost 10.50 each for a hardback book and mostly I was getting large print (which is one of the reasons I wanted an e-reader). I participate in Good Reads First Reads Giveaways. Lucked out with a really good win the first time but some of the others I had to plow through. I have some favorite authors but I am learning to always read the reviews on here and Amazon. Got burned by ordering one of my favorite authors in spite of low rating at Amazon. I ended up giving it one star on Amazon.

Hi Karen,

I can answer that question for you!

DTB means Dead Tree Book, it references a paper book instead of eBook. And POI stands for Pixel of Ink - it's a nickname for this group and the Pixel of Ink website!

Join us on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/PixelofInk and browse the web site http://www.pixelofink.com/ for more Free & Bargain Kindle Books than you will ever have time to read! ;-)

Karen B. (raggedy11) Thank you. Oh trust me I have been to POI website. But do I need to access it on facebook too for some reason. It seems reduntant to me.

I have a kindle and I already have five pages of books downloaded. Some of the classics that I may want to re-read some day.

I still have my DTB shelves to read as well.
