I liked this book. It's good.

Dickens is a great writer. I didn't like it as much as Great Expectations.

Bedtime Booknerd (shawtygurl15) Hey I'm starting this book also...

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I'll have to read this book again as an adult. When I read it for school, I hated it, but I bet I would feel differently now.

Liz (lizgore) | 3 comments i love that he writes in old english. i read the book a couple of months ago [and might have even cried at a certain time when someone did something really nice for someone else but i won't give too much info for it will spoil it :)] overall one of his best books.

Kristine (foreveryearning) | 72 comments I finally finished reading this book a few minutes ago! I think I started this book back in April. The beginning up to middle of Book 2 was too slow for me. Maybe it's just because I had trouble with the old English. From the middle of Book 2 and onwards, however, I was sucked into the story, particularly because of what Carton promised. Shed a small tear as well at a certain part of the book.

I can now officially say I've read something by Charles Dickens :) And I'm glad I actually ended up liking it despite my very slow start and wanting to throw it against the wall lol

You picked one of his toughest reads to start out with so kudos to you for finishing it! You should read Great Expectations next, I couldn't put it down because each chapter ends with a cliff hanger. Since they spoke differently back then it can be hard to read books with that kind of language but once you get into it you kinda get used to it and it eventually you don't think about it.
