Does anyone have any suggestions on books that talk about creation and the edvidence of Jesus? That is easy to understand for young adults or non-harvard people.

Lyn (lyncote) How about Paul Little's classics, KNOW WHY YOU BELIVE and KNOW WHAT YOU BELIEVE?

Glenn | 13 comments Hey Kym, I don't think anyone does better work on Creation then Ken Ham at Answers In Genesis. You can see all his work and others at AnswersInGenesis.org. He is entertaining and easy to understand and uses sound science and the scriptures to give skeptics something to think about and great encouragement and inspiration for the believer. I think Strobel's The Case for Christ is a great book on evaluating Jesus for the skeptic who is afraid of being follish enough to believe Jesus is who you and I know He is! A great investigative journalist approach to the topic.

Thanks Lyn and Glenn. I will check out KNOW WHY YOU BELIEVE and KNOW WHAT YOU BELIEVE. I have Case for Christ by Strobel. I have enjoyed that. I have many athetist and angonostic friends and want to show them that the Bible and God can be counted on. I am reading Ken Ham's One Blood, bibical answer to Racism. It is very good. I wanted something that wasn't so lengthy. I wanted to hit the core questions and then follow up with something more. Not over load them at first. Know what I mean?

The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel definitely.

And I'm pretty sure there are teen versions as well.

its good to read the other side of the coin too like the jesus puzzle, for one. I think that book taught me that so many changes in the bible translations over the years can lead to many interpretations lol.

Glenda Rouxel (rouxel) | 5 comments How about a DVD? Louie Giglio's "Indescribable" is awesome for teenagers, very visual and thought provoking and passionate.

Oh my! I LOVE Ken Ham! We're watching a series of videos by him on that subject every youth meeting; but I can't seem to recall what their name is right at this moment.

message 9: by Brittany (new)

Brittany (missbrittany) Louie Giglio and Chris Tomlin (the singer) are starting a Passion church, in Atlanta I think. I heard Chris talking about it on the radio yesterday.

Megnews The Case for Christ, The Case for Creation, and The Case for Faith all by Lee Strobel. I have read the youth version of all 3 with my tween and we enjoyed them. I am currently reading The Case for Christmas with my book club...

Kamisamanou | 1 comments The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism is undoubtedly the best. I haven't even finished the book and have be blown away thus far.

Probably Answers in Genesis. That's the most famous one anyway. I have it. He has Answers books too - and they are less complicated - go directly to whatever "issue" you want to look up... You can also get a lot of info. on their website.

Kitty Foth-Regner (kittyfoth-regner) | 13 comments "Heaven Without Her" (Thomas Nelson, 2008) is a memoir describing my transformation from feminist atheist to born-again Christianity, primarily through the evidence of creation science. In fact, it's dedicated in part to the late Henry Morris, founder of the Institute for Creation Research (I believe Ken Ham came out of ICR to create the more consumer-friendly AIG), and Dr. John Morris of ICR has endorsed it. My bibliography briefly describes more than 40 books that were critical to my conversion, most of them books on various aspects of science. If you look up "Heaven Without Her" on Amazon, do a "look inside," and search for "Bibliography," you'll be able to see these recommendations.

Lee Strobel (who is indeed represented in my bibliography) also has written a book entiteld The Case for a Creator.

I don't believe that we can be saved by such evidences, but I know from experience that the evidence can tear down our objections to belief -- and lead straight to doubt-free faith in the truth of the Bible. I know a number of people who've been "Persuaded by the Evidence" (check out that outstanding title on Amazon, too -- compiled in part by scientist Dr. Jerry Bergman, it contains brief testimonies of people, mainly scientists, who came to the Lord by way science!).

Kitty Foth-Regner (kittyfoth-regner) | 13 comments Paul Little's "How To Give Away Your Faith" is outstanding, too.

message 19: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (deborahw) | 3 comments Kym, I've reviewed a number of creation and Christian apologetic books (which you can find in this list).

I like Paul Little's books and Ken Ham's. I liked "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel, but I was disappointed by his "The Case for Creation."

Let's see...easy level stuff. How about More Than A Carpenter by Josh McDowell. Did Adam Have a Bellybutton and Did Eve Really Have an Extra Rib? by Ken Ham.

Sharon Ellis | 39 comments There is a neat place near GlenRose Texas that has a Creation Museum - and books and also, they have started a program of videos and teachings for home schooling children. The man came to our church a few Sundays ago, guest speaker.
Oh! What was his name?? Just look up GlenRose Texas Creation Museum - its right near a place where dinosaur tracks have been found in the river bed.
