I'm trying to gain up a good to-read list because I've been going with my husband to the library or Borders after classes to study. Thing is, he has more work than me and I get bored. Any book ideas?

I enjoyed the Marta Series by Francine Rivers: Her Mother's Hope and Her Daughter's Dream were both excellent reads.

Cee (cee-lakambini) | 5 comments I am reading Gabriel's Inferno, a debut novel by Sylvain Reynard. It is a character-driven, captivating romance with Christian themes. The art and literary references are delightful.

Here is what LibraryThing Early Reviewers have to say:

Brilliant, original, and engaging. This is a Christian novel with a wonderful premise that takes the reader through major events of early history. Although written as a double plot, one current and one historical that culminate at the end; the book is more like an intriguing collection of short stories in different ancient cultures. Each chapter is well written and takes the reader right to the time and place of the scene. In the end, it remains a story of good versus evil, but getting there is great fun.

This read was gripping and kept we engrossed. My proof that I didn't want to put this e-book down was that I read it on my iPhone! Can you imagine reading a book with over 2,000 screens entirely on an iPhone? I can definitively say that it was worth it.

This book has a Christian theme but it is not preachy. I think this is a very heart lifting and rewarding read. I highly recommend this book to everyone looking for a great mix of intrigue, biblical history, and good vs. evil. Get this e-book now while it is still $2.99. You will thank yourself and really have many interesting hours of enraptured reading. ( )

"Wayward Son" was a great add to my little library. It was fast-paced and well-written. It was a blast to read from start to finish. This may only be my second LibraryThing book, but I am so glad I found it! I love being surprised by books. Wayward Son was definitely a surprise, not at all what I expected! ( )

This book sucked me in and I couldn't put it down until I finished to see what would happen. Talk about a cliffhanger at the end, I'm hoping there is a sequel as I want to find out what happend to Amanda after she was rescued. Not my usual sort of book (more religous than what I usually read) but it was an interesting interpretation of history and the bible. Only wish there was more on the present day than just the history, but as I said I'm hoping there will be a sequel that will share the aftermath of it all. ( )

Sara Migers | 2 comments Hi,
I recommend "He liked Tuesdays best" by Brygida Grysiak.
The book speaks about an ordinary day of John Paul II in the Vatican, about what was making him emotional and what was making him laugh, about his conversations with important politicians, about to whom he confided and what he read, about what he really liked to sing and who he invited for holidays, about how he was celebrating the New Year’s Eve and why he liked Tuesdays…
