I try to blog about more than just reviews and have started a mythology A-Z inspired by some of the books I read. Reviews are usually a bit more expansive on the blog than Goodreads too as I don't think people want to read an essay on here!

For all you bloggers out there...are blogs easy to set up?

Cambria, mine was. I use free version of Wordpress (you can get your own URL and redirect your blog to it but you have to pay for that) and in all honesty, it took me about half an hour to set up.

Then about four days looking at templates going "ooooh lovely!"

Basically, depending on how tech-savvy you are, from very easy to quite easy!

The other popular one is Blogger... pretty much of a muchness as far as I can see though.

Cassie- I got on your blog today...I am now follwing!! I loved the art work and the background pattern...was that hard to do? How did you come up with your name of gathering leaves? Geez, I was thinking up my design in my head and then I got on your blog and I was like "well, crap that just blows my idea away'.....lol.

Yes, getting followers....ugh. Its the reason I haven't set up a blog before....I was afraid i would be able to hear the crickets churp everytime I signed on!! lol

@Cambria - LOL, sorry ;-)... I actually searched online through a bunch of blogger templates until I found one I really liked. It suits me... :-)
Thank you for following me! I just joined Book Blogs & am starting to get more followers. I know a lot of people are getting all the feeds through Facebook (on my personal page), so most people don't bother to go anywhere else and join/follow. My mom and several others are following through email too.
I'm hoping when I do a book giveaway next month, I'll be able to boost my following even more ;-)!

The hardest thing for me is actually finding time to get all this done--reading, writing reviews, getting them posted everywhere, making sure I am consistently posting interesting things for everyone on the blog...all while trying to keep up with the kids, the house, etc, etc, etc... ;-)

And the name... I just brainstormed for a while for something a little "different" that could have something to do with books (leaves)... :-)

Yes, they are time-consuming! Especially when you have other stuff going on, like writing books, promoting them, doing facebook, and having a life! Believe me, I heard the crickets for months. I think I had three followers for about six months. I've yet to break 100, but one day...one day...lol

thanks Cambria! And the cool thing with Wordpress is that you get to see your hit-stats so though I have 4 followers, I know that the blog gets about 100 hits a week. Not huge, but moderately respectable, and it does snowball as time goes on - it's all a matter of posting regularly really.

JA and James, I can't figure out how to follow your blogs...I'm so confused!!

Amy, on mine hit the link that says "Entries RSS" and it will take you to a page where it explains a bit about it and has a button that says "Subscribe to this feed".

Basically I think it puts the page in your favourites but makes sure it always takes you to the most up to date entry, or if you have a Wordpress account yourself it adds it to your "My blogs" page.

Hey there! I don't know what your home page looks like for your computer but you can go to igoogle and make a page that is totally awesome! It is what I have and how I follow all the blogs. I just add the feed (or blogroll as I like to say) and all the blogs are on one page- u just click on the one you want to go to. But from the home page you can see the bloggers most recent posts so u always know when there is a new post. You can also add a Facebook and email so u can see that. I have the weather and the news on mine too. And there are games! But to add a blog on there u just click on add stuff and then copy and paste the link to the blog in the appropriate box!!! It is super easy (I mean if this computer challenged gal can handle it u can too)....and it is way personalized!

Well, you did a wonderful job, I really love the way your blog looks. I know what you mean about time....there is never enough! It seems like networking and marketing take up precious writing time-and writing is the reason for the networking!! :)
And the name was really clever as well. Good job putting your creativity to work!! I think that the book giveaway will definitely add more followers!
